what a costly day.... and all i wanted as a slurpee.....Midnightly

i was gonna post this yesterday.... but things went crazy so here goes... on wednesday my day was a little insane!!

It all started with waking up in heat that is breaking records(in the 90's before noon up easily 15 degrees from the last hottest day on this date easly over 50 years ago!)

A friend came into town from Duncan for a visit we were going to go to the beach and swing by royal roads(you might know this place from the X-men series) so she could talk to an administration finacial person there...

i spent the morning painting our bathroom and then we meet up at her place... i commented that i really want to get a slurpee before we go out there(we were planning on going to the beach right after) i thought it would be no botehr to swing my a Mac's or 7-11... boy was i wrong!!

We all hop into his car and drive out...we stop at a petro canada(thinking they might have them) sure enough they didn't(i was starting to think we would be treking around everywhere for this slurpee) but just as were were about to pull away... the car won't start...

when a car doesn't turn over it's never a good thing... so give it a few tries... open the hood.... nope nope... car isn't starting... forunately we're at a petro canada and they have a mechanic area there(yay!) in the 15 minutes waiting for a them to see whats wrong... we had about 3 people come by and ask us if we needed a jump(canadians are soo friendly and polite always looking to help)

fortunately there was a burger king right beside so we went over there to get something to eat while they figured out what was wrong... and sure enough.. it was the fuel pump(this can get pretty pricy!! i think it cost him $350!! to get fixed) and fotunately one of the workers offered to give one of us a ride back into town so we could go get my BFnd's car(gotta love friendly canadians!)

after about an hour of waiting we FINALLY make it out to royal roads and the lady who my friend needed to talk to... wasen't in that day(all that for nutten!!) so we decided since hte lagoon was just a few minutes drive away... we'd go there.... and unfortunately it wasen't even worth our time...

after ALL THAT didn't even make it to the beach...or did i get my slurpee

Date: 6/7/2003 2:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 13119    I never knew Royal Roads was in X-men. Strange how many films have shots in Canada now. Go for a slurpee today, its not as hot but still necessary! :P
Date: 6/7/2003 2:25:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53052    magoo royal roads is the castle that is used in X-men.... i think they also use a house location what is around her too
Date: 6/7/2003 2:27:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53052    dunes a nice think about the machanic guy who drove my BF into town to get his car... he was taking hte course up at one of hte colleges around here(the exact course my BF wants to take) and the guy was getting EI retraining(basically the goverment) to pay for it.... and that again is what my BF is gonna do
Date: 6/7/2003 2:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 13119    sweet! Canada, well BC is called the Hollywood to the north. We have perfect weather for them and the Rockies ensure we have all different enviroments.
Date: 6/7/2003 2:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53052    magoo that it is!! hollywood north... mostly vancouver... but alot of film crews have burned alot of bridges there and almost every area of that town has been used for shoots that they are starting to come more to the island and into the more remote locations of BC(basically they are slowly getting out of vancouver) did you know that the lord of the rings trilogy was almost shot in canada?? it's true! they chose new zealand becuase they had a cheaper dollar!
Date: 6/7/2003 2:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 13119    Last year Robert DeNero and Robin Williams were both up here shooting, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddy Prinze Jr are shooting Scooby 2 up here and JLo and Ben Affleck are shooting right now too. Its amazing how many more films are coming up here and how much real estate that the stars are buying.
Date: 6/7/2003 2:50:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53052    magoo this is true!!... unfortunately alot of people arn't realising that these could technically be called canadian movies... all except for the editing and script(and most the actors) is done in canada by canadian workers
