Weird noises on the phone? ~Tara~

Okay..here's the deal. My boyfriend James (Matrix33) and I have been noticing some weird buzzing noises when we talk on the phone. But I've noticed that when we hang up, I can't hear them anymore. Onto the stranger part..just about a half hour ago, I was talking to James on the phone..I heard different voices, and I thought they were just coming from his tv, but when he hung up, I could still hear them. They were carrying on a conversation of some sort. I listened to it until the phone gave me the dial tone. Then when James called back about 5-7 minutes after that, I told him what I heard. I told him to turn off his CD player and listen. He couldn't hear it, but I could still hear those voices. I heard something about filling up cylinders..whatever that's supposed to mean. I find it odd that I couldn't hear the BUZZING after we hung up, but I could still hear the VOICES. Also sometimes when I first answer the phone, we hear our voices like, echoing back at us..kind of like a hollow sound. Any idea what it might be? Think it might have something to do with the government tapping into the phone lines? O_o LOL, thanks in advance. *hugs* Love always, Tara
