Alternative Health Care

I have a question for everyone. Are you the type of person who would never choose an alternative health care method? Or Would you be the kind of person who would consider it if conventional medicine could not give you any hope? Or Would you be open enough to try it?

And, How many of you believe in total healing of the mind, body and spirit?

Conventional medicine, I believe, only treats the symptoms, not the true cause, where as I believe that alternative medicine does. Thank you for your replies in advance. I was also wondering if anyone has tried alternative health care, if so what kind and what was your experience. Thank you for sharing your stories.

Date: 6/7/2003 5:52:00 AM From Authorid: 46527 I use a lot of alternative therapies, both on myself and my children, in fact my children have grown up to expect to try the natural ways first before even thinking of going to the doctor. I usually find that the alternative methods work, often where medicine fails!

Oils such as lavender and chamomile will actually prevent scarring if you apply them to the wound, soon enough. Of course, I also believe what Nana Loretta said in "Murder at Witches' Bluff", that you'll only get a scar if you think you will (that's why I have one on my left elbow). Anyway, I believe in Alternative Medicene so much that I was going to go to school to be a Doctor of Naturopathy, but I don't feel patient enough at this point to go to college for eight years.
