As soon as Jackson entered his office, Charles ran to him and gave him his assignment. "You have been assigned to the case of the murder of Allan Houston. While others are working on it too, I encourage you to do your best job to figure out the mystery. First off, I know that this is your first murder case. However, I'm also aware that you have been a fine Sheriff, and that I myself, personally, have assigned you to this case, leaving some of the others out of it. Now Jackson, make me proud!" Jackson wasn't expecting this; he didn't like murder cases. Anyway, the words of his boss encouraged him enough, and he said, "Fine, I'll work on it. When do I start?" "All you have to do is ask questions to any of the people that subside in Helmstown. Get inquiries, and you are also on field work. You will need to go with a team of guys and explore the woods and other surrounding areas that can be a good place to hide in. You start on Monday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. You will do this every week, 5 times a week, until a top suspect has been found. Then, we will possibly have a court trial. Until then, take some rest, and when Monday comes, be on your best shape and behavior. I'm counting on you Jackson!" "Alright, thank you boss. But, what do I do today for work?" "You can look over what some of Allan's friends have reported to the police station; they have said stuff about where Allan lived, his background, how he came to drink at the bar, etc. You can start working now. I'll leave you to it while I gather people to search Helmstown- that includes you. Anyway, look it over a couple of times, and try to get a motive as to why someone would kill Allan. Get to work then, Jackson! And I'm confident that you will do a good job!" "Okay, see you later Charles." As soon as Charles left the office, he began looking over the files that were on his desk. Information about Allan was inside. Jackson just began reading it, taking important notes into consideration. He continued until it was 4:00 P.M. He read it many times over, but still couldn't get why someone would kill Allan. He had this in his mind as left his office and drove home. He didn't like murder cases, but he knew that he had to do a good job, and to gather significant evidence to find a suspect.
