JAMIE'S STORY..........PART FIVE..........ReleaseMe

Jamie had to come up with a plan and quick. How could she get Troy away from Monica? She had to talk to him alone.

At lunch Jamie saw Troy standing in line and without Monica. This was her chance to talk to him alone. She walked up behind him and asked him how he was doing. She suddenly felt as if she were at a loss for words. What exactly was she going to say to him? She couldn’t just demand him to be with her.

Think quick Jamie, just say something. Finally she asked him to have lunch with her so that they could talk. But Troy said that he was going to have lunch with Monica. Jamie felt like she had been punched in the stomach, but she wasn’t going to just give up on him. So she asked him if she could call him after school and talk. Amazingly he agreed. At least that was a start.

Jamie couldn’t wait for the day to be over. It seemed to drag on forever from one period to the next. Finally the last bell rang. Jamie practically jumped out of her seat. She couldn’t wait to talk to Troy. She just knew that everything was going to be okay. She would make him see that they were meant to be together.

Jamie dialed the number and listened to the phone ring once, then again. Suddenly a voice answered. It was Troy. She said hi and he said hi back. Then there was a pause, almost an awkward silence. But Troy broke the silence and asked her what she wanted to talk to him about. Jamie began to explain to Troy that she didn’t understand what had happened between them, why he was ignoring her, and why he was hanging out with Monica Howard.

Troy then told her that he didn’t even really like Monica. Jamie’s heart leapt with relief. But then Troy went on to say that it wasn’t Jamie’s fault that he left, that he just needed something more, something that Monica was willing to give him. And then the reality started to sink in. She suddenly understood what had happened. Troy had dumped her because she wouldn’t have sex with him. It was true.

Troy went on to explain how he had needs and that who ever was to be his girlfriend needed to understand his needs. Jamie understood, or at least she thought she did. She would have given anything just to be with Troy again. She told Troy that she could be that girl and that she could make him happy. After all they were meant to be together.
