My mom had this problem, and I was tslking to Linda one day, and she told me there was something specifically for ants at Wal-Mart. She said it was definitely something that will get rid of ants. I forgot the name of it, but if you ask someone to help you at Wal-Mart, I'm sure they would. |

i had this problem last summer. i tried all the wive's tales they say, like drawing a line of chalk, putting cucumber peels down, lol but the best way was just to put ant traps everywhere you see the pesky things.it took a little while but i did get rid of them. im ready if they come back this summer lol. lotsa luck |

Terro Ant Killer works great for the sweet eating ants. Sounds like the ones you have. Also, you really don't want to leave sweet things around for them. You'll only be inviting them back. |

My dad would put Raid (the liquid in a bottle kind) and put it into a small container with holes in it and mixed it with honey. It worked really well on wasps too. Just make sure it's in a place where you want to attract the ants and where animals or children can't get to. Good luck! |

My Husband bought a bag of Eliminator brand Ant, Flea and Tick killer granules. He had put it in a pump sprayer container. He mixed it with water. He sprayed around the garage door, and along the front of the house, but we didn't do the backyard because of our dog. |

I would sure like to know what would kill the pesky little things. My best friend and her family has them and they have sprayed inside and the entire yard and still can't get rid of them. I read all of the replies and they have did all of them down to the ole tales and nothing works. I seen on the news yesterday evening and it said that they were really bad this year because of all of the rain that we here in Tennessee have had. So I don't really know what to do about them, if anyone knows anything else that we haven't tried please let us know......... |

Boric acid is a dry powder that can be found in garden stores. You sprinkle a little of the powder around the places where the ants or roaches enter the house. They get it on their feet and legs and carry it back to the nest which in turn kills the others. Great stuff, although you don't want to touch it. If you do immediately wash in cool soapy water. This is what they use at the White House. If you find an ant hill outside just put a teaspoon of the stuff on top. This is one of the most effective and safest ant killers there is. |

well, i have never tried it, but they say an ant cant cross a chalk line.... if it works it would be easy to make a line around the floor of the washer and around the wall in case they decide to come that way. its worth a try i guess..... |
