Reader's Responses ~*~Lady of the Clayr~*~

I'm curious to know if it's just me that does this, but if you're writing a story on here, are you tempted to not continue it if you don't recieve a lot of replies?

My replies have been going down. Every time I write something new, I get less and less replies. This is the first time I've had stories sitting out there for days and got no replies. Or what about people who only reply to the beginning? Does it mean that they feel that it should already be known by the author that they'll follow along even if they don't reply? Or does it really mean that they haven't bothered to read any of the other parts?

Personally, I thrive on comments. It's not the fame that comes from having a lot of replies, it's knowing how someone feels about what you've written. It's like we're all editors on here, so I need the critiques to keep going. Do people think "Blood of a Hero" rocks, or are they tired of more Terminator stuff? Is "The Las Vegas Files" a good concept, or is it too cheesy to play on one's fantasies of what might happen on one's senior trip?

Come on, people. This one actually involves replying. *sad puppy eyes* Please?

Date: 5/30/2003 7:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 28946    The up-date button disappears after a week or so on the posts. Just from now on, signing your name might help. Still, maybe people aren't commenting but maybe they are still reading. Do you have lots of views on your stories?
Date: 5/30/2003 8:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 23948    People are probably still reading them and just not replying
Date: 5/30/2003 11:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 37900    Write because you have something to say, not because you're looking for comments. If you become too sensitive to what others say about your work, you will compromise its integrity and you will lose your creative edge. I wish you well.

Date: 5/31/2003 1:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 55903    I have just 'discovered' some of your stories, and I like what I am reading. Do not let other peoples' lack of response stop you. If I stop in the middle of writing something it usually just means I can't figure out where to take it from there! But I hate when I am reading a good series and then the writer stops. So if even one person is reading your stuff....keep going! There have been some in the past who would begin something and then stop because just one or two people comment. So there will be maybe 3 or 4 stories without endings. After a while I quit even trying to read their stuff cause I know it will end in the middle. Please don't be like that! ok?
