i agree they really pushed on the commercials and the celeb mags and TV shows(like ET and extra) they really did push ruben.. i was clay all the way... |

I called over 20 times for Clay but only got a busy signal. But I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason it the higher powers saw fit for Ruben to win, but it doesn't matter, they both will have a CD released.  |

I thought Ruben only won by 1,300 votes. This was the total given by Ryan Seacrest? at the very end of the show and also by Fox news the next day.  |

Ok maybe they did vote wrong, but they shouldn't start crying about it now. Personally if I did something that stupid, I wouldn't admit it. I learned the alphabet before kindergarten. I could understand if they were saying they had some technical problems with the phone lines or something like that, but to actually say that that many people misdialed in some stupid way like that is just a little too unbelievable to me.... Sorry, I just don't buy it. |

this is interesting. I do believe Ruben one fair and square but hearing stuff like this makes me wonder! I wanted Clay to win but he will get a recording contract too and will probably be as successful as Ruben. It really didn't matter who won. |

I wish they would make it so you could vote online next year, there are too many flaws in the voting system IMO. Also you wouldn't have to deal with those busy signals. |

i don't think it was the actual people admitted to it.. it's the tele-com company that came out and said it... it would be nice to vote online it would be nice that canadians could vote(because we do get the signal and we do watch it on canadian channels).... |

Ok, think about it this way, in 10 years, if you ask someone who was the 2nd American Idol....not many people would answer it right, but if you were to ask them who is Ruben Studdard and who is Clay Aiken, they would probably know. The title means nothing. It's what they do afterward!! |

the title holds some marit... people usually remember who came in first... like you probally remember who came in the winner of the first survivor but not the runner up.. the title doesn't give JUST bragging rights... it also opens doors to things such as interviews and tons of publicity on all the talk shows.... but i do agree they will both get albums and they will both have a future in the music business(there is no denying that) |
