Who are your favorite skeletons? (<>..<>)

Movies, television, and literature have introduced us to some great skeletons over the years. Almost everyone loves skeletons, to hate skeltons would in fact be to hate a part of yourself. Since everyone I know has a skeleton inside them to support them for walking and protect their internal organs. Here are the skeletons I choose as my favorite ones:

*No bones about it, the Crypt keeper is the coolest skeleton around. He was derived from the1950’s series of horror comic books Tales from the Crypt, which later spawned into a television show, a cartoon, several movies, and even a pin ball game. Each time you saw the Crypt keeper he always had a neat outfit to fit the story for that night. Along with his cute "horror" jargon he always kept the Boils and Ghouls entertained. This pile of bones has a special place in my heart.

*The leader of the skeleton warriors in Army of Darkness also ranks among the top skeletons. His face is quite frightening and he's probably the most violent of all of these skeletons. He has a lot of confidence too 1) for his battle skills and 2) for foolishly thinking he could seduce a woman with the line "gimme some sugar baby", even there is much doubt as to whether a skeleton could do such a thing LOL.

*Most of the time skeletons are usually meant to be frightening, well not in this case. In this case they were meant to be educational. The skeletons from School House Rock made sure school children were well aware of which bones connected to which bones through cartoon and song. "The shin bone connected to the knee bone, (that means tibia connects to the patella), Knee bone connected to the thigh bone (that means patella connects to the femur.)"

*Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas might have very well been the first and perhaps last skeleton to appear in a full length claymation motion picture. He is just about the only thing I remember from watching this movie, so he's at least important for that.

*Skeletor was a villain in the He-Man series cartoon, if I can remember right he became allies with the evil Hordak and later also appeared in the Masters of the Universe movie. Even though I personally was more into She-Ra then Masters of the Universe, even I owned a Skeletor action figure because he was an awesome skeleton to own in the eighties.

*The younger generation will probably be the only ones familiar with this bag of bones. Curly was the mascot for the popular children’s book series Goosebumps. He appeared when ever they were trying to sell the books, I also have a slammer of him used in tournaments of pogs. Most would say he's not the best skeleton, and he really isn't. I just was running out of skeletons to put on this page.

To complete this tribute to the greatest calcium boasters of them all I have visuals of all of the ones I listed here: http://deathbyunicorn.tripod.com/Manic_Junk.htm

Feel free to add more, I'm sure I forgot some.

How it changed my life:

I thought more about skeletons then I ever did before in my whole life.

Date: 5/27/2003 8:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    My favorite skeletons? One is that of my grandmother and it rests in a box six feet underground. The other lies a fews inches beneath my muscular structure. I speak highly of it for simply opting to reside there.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    I'm also a fan of my own skeleton, but I don't give it any credit here just because it never appeared on tv.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    Mine was. It was on Martha's Stewart's show. Martha was in court and my skeleton was called in because it looked better and had more sense than she did.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    I didn't mention this and I guess it was just because I didn't want to brag but it can make one heck of a Bundt cake with pretty, little flowers on it.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    Skeletor was cool. I had a toy skeletor with his black panther and I also used to have a He-man and a Battle cat and everything. The guy up the street had castle greyskull and everything as well with the cool microphone and everything!
Date: 5/27/2003 8:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 55533    :O AAAAHHHHHH!! THE ARRIVAL OF THE SKELETONS!!
Date: 5/27/2003 8:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 61941    I personally like the skeleton from the Movie house, played by the security guard from night court, he was so cool.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    The castle of Greyskull was cool, I knew a kid who had one, but I never had one. My skeletor had to play along with the rest of the She-Ra dolls I had and live in the lovely pink pretty castles. I'm sure he enjoyed it though.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:49:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    I don't think I'm familiar with that skeleton, but I'm sure he was great. And now I just thought of some more cool skeletons, the ones from the Sega Genesis video game Battle Axe.
Date: 5/27/2003 8:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    I'll answer you seriously now. I was always partial to the ones in The Seventh Voyage Of Sinbad. It's hard to beat sword-fighting skeletons. Ray Harryhausen did a wonderful job with the stop-motion animation. I was lucky enough to get to meet him a few years ago. He's about eighty years old, now. Anyway, it was great.
Date: 5/27/2003 9:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    The skeltons in Never Winter! Pc game!
Date: 5/27/2003 9:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    the skeleton from army of darkness was cool as well. I loved how his jaw dropped just before it was killed!
Date: 5/27/2003 9:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    In Nightmare On Elm Street 3 to kill Freddy they have to get his remains from a trunk and throw holy water on him and bury him. While Neil and Nancy's father are digging a hole Freddy's skeleton attacks. I really like the effects on that. And then there is that skeleton like character that comes out the door barring Diane Freeling to get her kids out in Poltergeist.
Date: 5/27/2003 9:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    The skeletons buried in my backyard....oops I have said too much you all must die now!
Date: 5/28/2003 4:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 51285    hmm, one of my fave skels is the purposely fake on in the old version of House on Haunted Hill... scared the crud out of me 'cause it looked so real... but, who can forget those skeletons from Poltergeist that actually turned out to be REAL?
*shivers* luv and hugz,

Date: 5/28/2003 7:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 35114    LOL Alien, what would we do without you? ^_^ Personally I'm all for #2, Evil Ash. LOL I love those movies.
Date: 5/28/2003 8:11:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    Oh yes I do remember the skeleton in Nightmare on Elm street 3. How could I forget that one? LOL Kawaii, you all probably wouldn't go hmmmmmm as much like it says in my profile on an award.
Date: 5/28/2003 8:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 35114    LOL Perhaps ^_^
Date: 5/28/2003 1:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 47166    I'm partial to the skeleton-based furniture in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which also happened to be legitimate human remains.
Date: 5/28/2003 2:03:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    Skeleton furniture is also a nice choice. I wish I had some skeleton furniture, except it would probably have to be animal bones. Because human skeletons would be hard to obtain with out getting arrested. But maybe I can start a new trend LOL, instead of people donating their bodies to science they can donate them to be used as furniture.
Date: 5/30/2003 9:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 25483    Skeletor Rocks! Scared the mortal crap outta me as a kid, but now I have to admit he's awesome!
Date: 5/31/2003 7:45:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    ***Update*** A new skeleton has been added to my list. The one wearing a cheerleading costume on the front of the Return to Horror High movie. To check out the hilarious picture go to http://deathbyunicorn.tripod.com/Manic_Junk.htm and she's at the bottom of the page. ***
Date: 6/10/2003 2:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 62196    My favorite is the Crimson Ghost, aka, the Misfits Fiend.
Date: 6/10/2003 7:04:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 24732    Darn, I should have put the Misfits logo, since they are my favorite band.
Date: 6/11/2003 1:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 62196    lol yeah! Misfits ROCK!!!
Date: 3/11/2004 9:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    It was you Alien!
