Ordinary Heroes.........Zema

Another story I was reading and wanted to share with you..

My emotions are stirred whenever I read about people who have shown spontaneous bravery when someone's life is at risk - Like the neighbour who recued an unconscious granny from a burning house, the woman who lifted up a car to free her trapped son and the man who used his body to protect his wife from a madman's bullet.

These are headline-grabbing stories, but every day ordinary people show acts of courage that go largely unnoticed but make a huge difference to our world. Here are some other stories that I have found inspiring:

Graham was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Married with no children, he maintained his positive outlook and could make his wife laugh right to his last breath.

At risk of being taunted herself, Tara stood up to a group of girls at school who were picking on another girl, and told them to back off and leave the girl alone.

Janet had extrememly low self-esteem, yet the lion inside her came out when her son was bullied at school. She fought her fears, spoke to the teacher and principal, and pushed for a new approach to deal with bullying

Malcolm was an elderly gent who stopped his car and slowed down oncoming traffic to save an injured dog from being run over a second time.

Keep your eye out for the ways people step outside of their comfort zones and maike a positive difference to other people's lives..

FOOTNOTE:

I found in reading this article that there are so many brave people in this world, doing heroic actions day in and day out...just recently, on our news over here in Australia, two young men returning home from a night out early in the morning, noticed smoke billowing from a house, they raced in calling out to neighbours to ring for help and dragged out 3 kids and 2 adults, all were unconscious from the smoke...the kids are still critical but the adults are okk..and how lucky was this family that these fellows just happened to be walking past their home....very brave act indeed...

Luv and Peace....Zema
