She's looking into my eyes and I can tell she's scared But I tell her, "it will be okay, the doctors are here". Her hands are trembling. There is a tube in her nose. A single tear holds on, she's as delicate as a rose.
I feel my heart twisting inside my body I exhale deeply to keep from crying She closes her eyes tightly, squeezing my hand Im crying.
Hours go by, Im waiting Someone tell me something, this is hell! The gasoline on my clothes, I'll never forget that smell.
Soon it's over, I'm allowed to say goodbye. I walk into the room. She's drained. Her eyes meet mine and she says "I've gotta go". I start to cry and she holds my hand.
Leaning down she whispers..."it's not your fault, remember that" Everything will be ok, I feel no pain. Just stay with me here and hold my hand.
I wait and she slips, I hear her take a breath I lean down and whisper, "Im by your side." I squeeze her hand, she exhales. It's over.
