I recieved my MRI results and I have a complete tear of my rotator cuff and something else is torn too, just not sure what it is. Well the Doctor will be doing surgery on June 5th and I am asking for anyone who has had the surgery what should I expect afterward? How long before I will be back to normal.

Please share with me what you have gone through.

Thank you,

Joan {aka} Stormchaser

Date: 5/20/2003 4:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22852    LOL @ ReleaseMe.. A Rotator Cuff is a set of muscles that hold your shoulder in place. Thanks for your kind words, I will be fine, of that I am sure
Date: 5/20/2003 5:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    Hey Joan..my husband's best friend just had surgery on this same thing..They made about five small punctures and everything was done with lazer..NORMALLY it heals within two weeks, but my Husband's friend is a wimp and now, two months later he is STILL whining..LOL
Date: 5/20/2003 5:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    Ya know I just remembered my friend had a similar situation about a year ago.....She was all worried the doctor would see her chest during the surgery....so I told her to write something corny with like....washable marker there just to give everyone a good laugh...LOL If i remember right she couldn't shower for three days or so after the surgery....which was pretty bad as she's vain about her looks hehe! but yeah....LOL Good luck
Date: 5/20/2003 5:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    In cases like that, they usually end up having to amputate the arm. If you ask them, they'll probably give it to you to keep in a container of formaldehyde. Things like that make great conversation pieces.
Date: 5/20/2003 6:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 54987    I don't even know what it means! I wouldn't let anyone operate on me without telling me what it is. Why didn't you ask what it was? It could be your left hand or something else crucial.
