I couldn't agree with you more LSR. People who send virus or other harmful e-mail are sad and sorry people. We here at USM have been spamed with deliberate virus attacks as well as the unintentional ones. Some virus's go almost undetected once they infect a persons computer. The virus can be anything from extremely harmful to just mischievous. I know that some virus's just go send themselves out to each person on your e-mail list, without you even knowing about it. Until the governments of the world unite to track down these criminals and prosecute them, nothing will be done to stop this horrendous assault. If we didn't have a filter for the many e-mail address's that come to USM, we would undoubtedly receive 100 to 300 virus included emails everyday ... yes EVERYDAY. So sad of a use of a great medium such as the internet.  |

OK before people start jumping all over whoever owns this address keep in mind that there are many self replicating viruses that people DON'T KNOW THEY HAVE!!! In fact there are a few that in addition to sending it out to people in your address book, also go into your cache and find any addresses that may appear on pages you have visited. For example a few people I know got a virus and while checking their email noticed that an english termpaper got sent to startrek.com... they had never emailed the site, just visited it. So don't assume someone is doing this to be malicious when in reality it may simply be the lack of a good anti virus program. While we are at it, I highly recommend going to www.trendmicro.com and running a scan every couple of months...  |
