Elizabeth Bathori: Most prolific female murderer. Killed young girls in her Hungarian castle and bathed in and drank their blood in a last ditch effort to stay young. She was eventualy convicted, by vigilantes and locked in a room to starve to death. 1600s I think. Killed between 50-660. Later seen as a vampire.  |

I read somewhere that she killed a whole bunch of maindens, and bathed in their blood because she thought that it would make her look more youthful, and she kept on doing this until people found out and then they walled her up in her castle alive... that's all I know.  *hugs*  |

yeh, i have a book on her. She was a royal, so she was able to get away with it for years. The number she killed was absolutely unknown. The people she lured to her chaeteau were usually peasants etc. She was caught in the end, she kept the boides in the underground dungeon whereupon many were still alive with needles stuck in them (this is where the hellraiser guy came from with the needles.) She was locked up evetually, because she was of royal blood she wasnt killed. (may be a few mistakes) -she creatde the iron maiden |

I know a ton about her. I think shes one of the most interesting women I've ever read about (and since I study Vampires, shes in a lot of my books too). Elizabeth Bathory was born in 1560, in Transylvania.
