Police have arrested a burglary suspect who they say wasn't about to be rushed after breaking into a Glendale home.
Robert Anthony Fernandez, 43, of Phoenix, took the time to grab a bite to eat, then curled up on a sofa and was ready to nod off to sleep when officers arrested him, Glendale police spokesman Officer Matt Brown said.
"Fernandez admitted to breaking into the victim's house and advised that alcohol may have been a contributing factor," Brown said Tuesday.
Authorities gave this account:
Police were called about 11 p.m. Monday to a home in the 9600 block of North 51st Drive. The homeowner, who met police outside, said a man had broken through a front and was inside the residence.
Officers looked around and observed a suspect eating food inside the kitchen. Fernandez was arrested after police established a perimeter around the home.
Officer Brian Shackelford, a K-9 officer, entered the residence with his dog, Rico, and found Fernandez on the sofa.
Fernandez was booked on a Maricopa County jail on a single count of burglary. You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 45948 ( Click here )
