Anybody ever had a nail cut out?

I'm suppose to have the nail on my little pinky finger cut out because it's in-grown. I was told this 6 weeks ago.

I need to know, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, how much will this hurt??

Right now it doesn't really hurt much, unless I bang it, or when I'm typing. But I suppose I should have it done. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, or blood, especially my blood.

Date: 5/7/2003 1:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 3538    I had my toenail removed twice. You don't feel it, because they injected me with numbing medication and you don't feel it. Once that is done, you take ibuprofen.
Date: 5/7/2003 5:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 21203    OK, I've had this procedure done, and I have a HIGH tolerance to pain. I DO NOT agree with the others. OK, the removal part isnt bad....the SHOTS are the killer! Sorry, I wasnt gonna lie! Cant they remove 1/2 of the effected nail?
Date: 5/7/2003 5:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 61677    Have you tried putting a little piece of cottom under the nail where it is ingrown? If you can get some under it then this may help you from having to have this done. This is what the doctor once told me to do and I have been doing it ever since and it works everytime. Good luck.
Date: 5/9/2003 5:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 7672    No idea, I guess no one can tell you how much pain it will cause. It all depends on how well you can take pain, but you can be sure of one thing : once the wounds have healed, the pain will be gone.
Date: 5/9/2003 6:17:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 15228    Hey, thanks everyone. I guess I'll make the appointment. It doesn't seem to be going away as I hoped it would Smeagol, I would try the cotton thing, but the side of my finger is swollen and I don't think I could get cotton under it even if I wanted to. It's weird, because I can't really tell its in-grown, my finger is just swollen. I guess the side of the nail must have grown into the skin or something.
Date: 5/9/2003 11:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 15157    I am pretty sure they will numb it...
