Sorry I can't help you I've never had this happen to me. Sounds pretty painful though. Hopefully they'll numb it for you first. I don't mind blood and guts that much unless it's my own, lol, then I panic. Good luck to you. ~Gabrielle~ |

I had my toenail removed twice. You don't feel it, because they injected me with numbing medication and you don't feel it. Once that is done, you take ibuprofen. |

OK, I've had this procedure done, and I have a HIGH tolerance to pain. I DO NOT agree with the others. OK, the removal part isnt bad....the SHOTS are the killer! Sorry, I wasnt gonna lie! Cant they remove 1/2 of the effected nail? |

Have you tried putting a little piece of cottom under the nail where it is ingrown? If you can get some under it then this may help you from having to have this done. This is what the doctor once told me to do and I have been doing it ever since and it works everytime. Good luck. |

No idea, I guess no one can tell you how much pain it will cause. It all depends on how well you can take pain, but you can be sure of one thing : once the wounds have healed, the pain will be gone. |

Hey, thanks everyone. I guess I'll make the appointment. It doesn't seem to be going away as I hoped it would Smeagol, I would try the cotton thing, but the side of my finger is swollen and I don't think I could get cotton under it even if I wanted to. It's weird, because I can't really tell its in-grown, my finger is just swollen. I guess the side of the nail must have grown into the skin or something. |
