National Teen Pregnancy Day..........May 7th(today)....Midnightly

Today is National teen pregnancy day...this is an every growing topic and awareness should be brought up....here are just SOME of the facts that should be considered:

2/3 of teens under 18 who've had sex wish they'd waited longer

4 out of every 10 girls become pregnant atleast once before they turn 20.Eight in ten of these pregnancies are unintended3 and 79 percent are to unmarried teens

Young adolescents (particularly those under age 15) experience a maternal death rate 2.5 times greater than that of mothers aged 20-24.

Teen pregnancy is closely linked to poverty and single parenthood.

Children born to teen mothers suffer from higher rates of low birth weight and related health problems

Children of teen mothers often receive inadequate parenting.

The U.S. still leads the fully industrialized world in teen pregnancy and birth rates - by a wide margin. In fact, the U.S. rates are nearly double Great Britain's, at least four times those of France and Germany, and more than ten times that of Japan.

Teen pregnancy costs society billions of dollars a year

8 out of 10 fathers of teenage pregnancy do not marry the mother

The sons of teen mothers are 13 percent more likely to end up in prison while teen daughters are 22 percent more likely to become teen mothers themselves

One of every 3 girls has had sex by age 16, 2 out of 3 by age 18. Two of 3 boys have had sex by age 18

It's sad but true.... this is happening all around us... please take in to thought and consideration.. no one wants to become a statistic..

Many teen mothers can tell you they could they would have never become a teen mother
