do you know a second language?

what is it?

if you could learn a second language, what would it be?

i just found out that, after switching my major, i have to have 16 hours of a foriegn language .... and, you guessed it, i have NONE!!

LOL!!

so, now its 4 or 5 semesters of a foriegn language ....

i just have to decide which one.

i am leaning between french or spanish, what do you think?

or can you think of another language that might be more interesting?

Date: 5/5/2003 8:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 18928    im learning portuguese by reading the how to books. lol its a very confusing language to learn. thats where vadia came from its a portuguese word. good luck.
Date: 5/5/2003 8:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 32193    do spanish lol it's the easiest to learn out of all of them cuz its the closest to english lol but yeah, since i heard it was the easiest, im taking it in 9th grade as my elective, and then im taking spanish 2 in 10th grade.. because to graduate, we need 2 years of a foreign language... lol good luck!

Date: 5/5/2003 8:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    If I were you, I'd go for Spanish. It's a very annoying language to learn though. I know a few and if I could choose another, I'd finally learn Norsk (Norwegian)...
Date: 5/5/2003 8:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 44850    see, becky, i was wanting to do that, too ... but, it has to be 16 hours in the SAME language ... *shrugs* ... and yeah, spanish would be more useful here in america ... hmmmm ....
Date: 5/5/2003 8:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 36850    I'm taking spanish right now. I hated it in high school, but it's actually not that bad. I only have two semesters left after this one. As long as you study a little at home, you shouldn't have a problem with it. Good luck. moonshine3
Date: 5/5/2003 8:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    well that just ain't right...what if you take a year and realize 'hey this language sucks!!!' you have to start all over *Shakes head* *Sigh* good luck!
Date: 5/5/2003 8:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    American Sign Language (ASL) I was an interpreter for ten years after graduating from a two year program. If I was to learn another, it would be Spanish. Make yourself marketable. Being Bi-Lingual will do that.
Date: 5/5/2003 8:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 51635    I'd go with spanish if I had to pick one, it seems to be the one most requested by employers these days...
Date: 5/5/2003 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 31765    I speak Dutch.
Date: 5/5/2003 9:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 8941    I'm learning sign right now, and I love it. It is something that I've always wanted to learn.
Date: 5/5/2003 10:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 56410    Take Spanish. If you want to learn other Latin-based languages, its smart to take Spanish first. Although I find French prettier, and less annoying to speak, Spanish is easier... Russian would be great to learn. Chinese...German...Gaelic.. Aww, I want to learn as many languages as I possibly can. I'm a softie for words..
Date: 5/6/2003 4:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 55689    I take chinese.. its a must for me here..

Date: 5/7/2003 10:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 24732    I think I have 4 hours of dual credit for college that transfered from my high school AP German class. I know German since both my parents and grandparents speak it. I always liked it, except when you speak German sometimes a lot of spit flies out of your mouth. Deutsch ist Super spaz!
