Is That the Sun?

  Author:  35808  Category:(Poetry) Created:(5/5/2003 12:33:00 PM)

The clouds have covered the sun,
and everything I've pieced together,
seems to have come undone,
in the midst of this stormy weather.

Is that the rain, thats falling,
dampening my spirit?
Or are those my own tears,
from the pain I, myself, inflict?

Is that the wind, threatening,
to knock me to the ground?
Or are those the gusts of pretests, escaping my mouth,
without making a sound?

Is that the thunder, pounding,
echoing in my head?
Or is that the sound of my composure breaking,
because of the words someone said?

Is that the lightnin, flashing,
it's brilliance blinding me?
Or is that the light of truth,
vanishing, every time I attempt to see?

Is that the river, flooding,
quickly covering my feet?
Or are those my fears, rising,
to introduce me to defeat?

Is this the darkness, closing,
its shadowns in around me?
Or are these memories, of a forgotten past,
returning to remind me, of how I came to be?

Is that the sun, shinning,
fighting to break through?
Or could that be the friend,
I have found in you?
