that would had made me mad. lol, well i've been talking to this doctor so i could go job shadow him, and he tells someone to tell me the following ''Lynda in Human Resources told me to let you know that when you email Dr. Pruitt to use proper grammer. Just thought you might want to know. I think he is "always a teacher" type of person.)'' now, when i've e-mailed him, i don't remember all of the things that i've said, but i've made sure i had good grammer. the only thing i've said that sounded bad was yall, which i can't help. |

I know how you feel. Anytime I take my son to see his developmental pediatrician, we always have to sit in the room waiting for the doctor to come see us. I think the longest I've ever had to wait was 3 hours. I've also had another bad experience with my son't pediatrician last week. My son had a seizure at his preschool last week. So I took him straight to his pediatrician. She tried to tell me that it was just a viral infection and nothing more. After I left her office, I took my son to Riley Hospital for Children in downtown Indianapolis. There they diagnosed him with having an episode and that his electrolytes were low, which was likely the cause of the episode. The next day, my son's pediatrician had the nerve to call me up at my house, chew me out for going behind her back by going to the hospital, and not listening to her when she said it was just a simple viral infection. To top it off, she told me she wasn't going to write an authorization for our insurance to pay for the hospital visit. I'm just at the point now where I'm thinking about switching pediatricians for my son. |

I've noticed that it really makes the doctors mad when you decide to take a nap while waiting. I think of doctors really want to make you wait as long as they do, they atleast need to put some decent magazines in the rooms. |

I totally agree with you on SOME doctors being rude, not all, but yes SOME. I really do agree that they shouldnt book so many ppl into a 1 hour time frame but ya know what, its just inevitable. I work in a doc's office and i know this is just CRAZY, lol. Oh and a few tips, leaving the door open doesnt make the doctor see you any faster, it just makes you look annoying and frivilous to others and secondly, they dont PURPOSELY mean to make you wait, seriously, lol. |

Man I would change doctors. I mean that is your child. when something that serious happens any good parent would get a second opinion. And you should chew out your doctor for the miss diagnosis and that she is lucky that you went to the hospital because if he had another epeisode and it caused serious damage then it would be her fault and she could be sued if I am not mistaken. So she should be grateful!!! |

I remember sitting in the waiting rooms, when my kids were little. One time, we waited for two hours! Recently,I just finished going to the dentist over a long period of time, and it is still the same old wait game. One thing that might help is, to request the appointment time that is right after the office opens back up after lunch. If they shut the whole office down between noon, and 1:00pm, then try to get in at one. One time I was at the dentist, and a man had fallen asleep in the dental chair,(not the chair in the waiting room, but the chair for drilling! LOL.) I guess he had been there too long. |

I used to be so frustrated with doctor's that made me wait....til something happened that made me totally change my view of them...i was waiting for like 3 hours to see one of my docs.....turns out....he had an elderly patient with Altzeheimers (sp?) disease and he'd spent the time with HER getting her calm enough so that he could do whatever it was that needed to be done....of course not all docs are like this..but i started thinking....if it was MY relative they did it for wouldn't i be grateful they made this person comfortable even at the expense of my time? |

I totally agree with you as i am sure most of us do! who knows what happens with their time... it would be fun to get a doctor into this discussion and maybe he/she could just let us know! i once read in i think it was Ann Landers, where this person actually billed the doctor, for time spent in waiting! hehehe maybe if we all banned together and did just that something would be done! lol roseann |

I hate most of all when they overbook, and think they are going to rush you through your visit,I would not have that I made them stay and answer every concern I had,I was not being rushed out ,especially when at times you have to sit and wait well past your appt.time..not my fault you overbooked is what I used to think. My favorite is when they think you don't know what is wrong with you LOL |

I get tired of the Doctors doing that, and have been there. And what happened with HayKory's son really upset me. I gets old sitting around waiting and then I've done this before gone in for an appointment then then Receptionist has forgotten to take down the appointment, and they tell you you can't be seen, because your not on the schedule when it's there fault. But take time out of your day to make sure you are there on time. I feel for ya. *hugs and love to ya* |

Cause their greedy and they want money..that's why..LOL I know what your saying. A year ago when I was having bladder problems I had to wait in this doctors' office for hours. He'd book patients at the same time. It was so annoying..I couldn't stand sitting there for an hour or two. |
