its symbolic, showing that they were stripped of their rights, and americans labeled them what they wanted. Kudos dixie chicks. they are very brave, and instead of downloading their last Cd, i went out and bought it to show my support. |

Well, if you havent noticed, its "in" for the stars to be against the war...and some the President. And something else...I am against the war....but am NOT against our troops. I just think we should've tried something different. |

I didnt watch the interview but I heard what was said and I was a little perturbed at first too and then I thought -it is a free country- and if someone else would've said it I dont think there would be as much publicity. Its true what you said about common sense though too. I just think it was uncalled for but she has a right to say what she wants and I do LOVE their music and would still buy their cd's. |

Doggone, I missed the interview. We all have a right to mis-speak or say what's on our minds. I don't care what she said, I just wish I'd been glued to the screan when she was interviewd...since I have the hots for Natalie anyway. |

Not been to a concert in over 10 years, bring the Dixie Chicks to my area and I will be standing in line for a ticket! Going today to buy their new cd, yea they may have lost ALOT of fans, but they are gaining a few new ones. I am proud to be an American, I support and love our troops, I didn't agree with the war, but I still stand by America, our troops and freedom of speech. This has gotten WAY outta hand. Am I allowed to speak my mind and thoughts or will I get death threats, put down, and made felt like I am not an American also? |

The problem the Dixie Chicks (and other moronic people) have is that they can't comprehend that freedom of speech cuts both ways. They have a right to say what they want but as soon as someone takes them to task for it they cry "bashing" or "unfair". Now of course death threats are out of line (like Alec baldwin saying Bush should be killed perhaps). So the Dixiechicks are not apologetic- Fine, but they have no right to feel victimized either. |

Paula, I agree with you 100%. I have absolutely no use for the Dixie Chicks. In fact, I wish I had never even heard of them. Mike, I'm with BCAR on this one. My hat's off to you for actually buying music rather than stealing it. |

I watched the interview, and I thought that they handled it well. I am not a fan of their type of music, but I wanted to hear what they had to say. I think the whole thing was blown out of proportion. Sometimes, I think that people think they really know entertainers, and they aren't able to make any differentiation between their stage personna, and how they are as human beings. I think it was wrong to destroy their CD's, and it really didn't prove anything. Natalie said there wasn't any correlation between what she said, and the Chicks not wanting to support troups. Sometimes I don't know why people take things so personally, that are said by entertainers. She didn't do anything that the rest of us haven't done...speaking before you think. |

True GT, but the magazine cover was like opening old wounds and pouring salt in them... |

it's reported that the president didn't care what they said, but that they should not get their feelings hurt when people responded to them the way they do. there's a lesson to learn here about free speech, well actually the repurcussions of free speech. |

When the magazine cover was showed during the interview, I thought that maybe that had been planned and done long before Natalie made her remark. I really don't care what those women do, but I honestly don't know how they can expect people to take them seriously, after they did that photo. It seems like a lot of performers are somewhat exhibitionistic in their personalities. |

If you watched the interview you must have missed it when they showed the picture you are refering to....They showed it during the interview....I like the tall blonde!.....I'm with the Chicks, speak your mind, say how you feel, if people want to respond by not buying your CD's, so be it.....I read that their Tour is selling out fast and their new CD is #3 on the charts, so I guess its just more publicity for them....... |
