"these stories are not something that was made up, but something that really did happen. " How do you know its true? I believe 'dragons' may very well be dinosaures..but we'll never know. Its a mythical creature with wings as far as societys concerned...just as are unicorns. |
Date: 4/24/2003 8:19:00 PM From Authorid: 44448 I think dragons either are or were real. Dragons are considered mythical but you made very good points (similar to some of my own) and It hink that in order for something to exist somone had to see something like it too make it up. Call me crazy, but oh well |
Date: 4/24/2003 8:24:00 PM From Authorid: 56840 Hmm. Have to think about this.. Excellent points, good post.. |
Date: 4/24/2003 10:04:00 PM From Authorid: 35114 Good post! Personally I believe that dragons are "spirit" animals and that they exsist, just on a different plane of conciousness. |
Date: 4/24/2003 10:55:00 PM From Authorid: 51979 "in order for something to exist somone had to see something like it too make it up", Faith people make things up all the time. Imagination is a awesome thing that lets things like this exsist. I love the thought of valiant knoghts and horrid dragons, but how would something so powerful go extinct? And how would someone of seen it if it were in the dinosaur days? That is like saying someone would of had to seen an elf, an orc, a ogre. Call me crazy, but the imagination is an awesome awesome thing, which is where dragons came from. |

Date: 4/24/2003 11:57:00 PM From Authorid: 28899 Have you noticed that those cultures you mentioned treasured metals and gems? Where do you find metals and gems? The same place you find 'dragon' bones. Ancient cultures found these bones, they wouldn't have called them dinosaurs, but they also wouldn't have had carbon testing to see when this "thing" died. Stories of knights fighting off fire breathing dragons is one just of many examples of poets are being mistaken for historians. Nothing magic.. Just a miscommunication. |
Date: 4/25/2003 12:19:00 AM From Authorid: 61677 I love dragons and it would be cool if they would of been real, but I doubt they ever were. |
Date: 4/25/2003 1:22:00 AM From Authorid: 59418 But wouldnt it kill them if they were dinosaurs. It's like spontaneous combustion... |
Date: 4/25/2003 3:39:00 AM From Authorid: 55009 if something was capable to create fire, the exit areas where ever they may be would have a sort of lining like our stomachs, if we didn't have any stomach lining the acid in there would kill us, and if dragons do exist or did untill recently they would have many many millions of years to evolve more than we have, hence they wouldn't just die from the fire they produce like it were an accident like that. |
Date: 4/25/2003 8:07:00 AM From Authorid: 58611 That thought is a possibility, an interesting way to look at it and it is a believeable way to look at it. dont they say that alligators are descendants of dinosaurs? Maybe some of them did survive and just adapted to thier current surroundings....And have you ever wondered if "elves" were really just midgets like we have today? I wonder what they called physically deformed people back then too? You never know....Good Post! |

Date: 4/25/2003 10:27:00 AM From Authorid: 57355 Dragons in the Americas, well in North-America? I've heard that dragon either create some kind of flamable-like gas from eating certain mineral-rocks or from what they eat,and they have these nerve structures somewhere in there mouths',when they burp the gas it's ignited by the electric nerve and a flame is created. -Quetz. |
Date: 4/25/2003 10:30:00 AM From Authorid: 57355 And alligators arent descendants, they have been around since the dinosaurs were, makes you think if there are other creatures like alligators who stil exist sice pre-historic times. -Quetz. |
Date: 4/25/2003 12:44:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36967 If someone, or some group of people just make up a story about some monster(dragon), how did these people get their dragon to resemble a Dinosaur. These people must have actually seen a dinosaur. Every culture come up with the same description, makes you wonder, if such a creature did exsist with man. |
Date: 4/25/2003 12:45:00 PM From Authorid: 18155 Depending on the location, draggons do vary in apperaance and behavior. While the dragons of western Europe are content to eat virgins and battle knights in armor, the dragons of the east, China in particular, are seen as bringers of good fortune and good luck. |

Date: 5/15/2003 10:18:00 PM From Authorid: 15070 DrkPtRs-hold on to your hat......I am about to compliment you *deep breath* good post! Interesting theory.......However "Dragons" could have been anything from Giant Anacondas, to Komono Dragons, to Egyptian Crocodiles, you never know. There are Myths that have Dragons as "intelligent", "Old", and "Teachers". Myself? Giant reptiles, fire-breathing? No, I think not, I think any Man who got an eye full of snake venom, would have been pretty sure, from the pain & stinging it was liquid fire. ~JMO~ |
Date: 5/22/2003 2:12:00 PM From Authorid: 43732 Very interesting post! I love it! I love dragosn to lol! I have always admired dragons and I have always believed that there maybe some that exist today but we'll probably never know. Some questions will always stay unanswered! Great post! Evil~Goddess* |
Date: 6/18/2003 3:16:00 PM From Authorid: 54800 I believe in dragons. I mean if there are unknown fish in the sea, fossils of dinasaurs, and other sorts of animals why should a dragon be any different? Great post! |
Date: 7/22/2003 11:55:00 PM From Authorid: 62146 Well I belive Dragons did exist Because Of the resoan you said how can basicly all cultures around the world come up with the exact idea for a creature it sounds to me like these things did once exist besides their is the locnest monster why not a dragon. Good post by the way. |
Date: 7/23/2003 9:07:00 PM From Authorid: 39737 nice post! Interesting theory |
