Some people just have no respect at the cemetary :( *PunkStarChik*

Today, my brother and I went to two different cemetaries. The first one we went to is my favorite one. It's a really big cemetary and my favorite place there is hidden in the trees where all the big and old grave stones are at.

As I was walking throughout the cemetary, I saw a whole bunch of tire tracks, from some car, driving all over the lawns. It was real muddy also and it got mud all over the graves. The tracks just went all over the lawn like crazy, pulling cookies and all. A lot of flowers and decorations were knocked over and ruined. I kept walking through there and I saw a bunch of empty beer bottles and even condoms there. It was just sad seeing all that.

At the other cemetary, I went to visit a friend and I noticed a lot of damaged stones. They weren't like that when I was there last, 'bout a month ago. Tons of grave stones were smashed, knocked over, caved in and some even missing. With these damages, the way there were, you can totally tell someone damaged them on purpose.

I can't believe that some people would do that. Have they no respect for the dead??? It's just sad seeing all that. I just can't believe people these days.

Date: 4/24/2003 7:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Becky..they just mowed the lawn up at one of the cemetaries and you can tell that they went over the stones as well.
Date: 4/24/2003 7:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 54570    Well on the flat headstones or the ones below the ground you can mow over them. Thats what they were designed for. Makes the graveyard look better and is easier to keep. Grave stones or tombstones however I cannot even begin to see vandalising them at all. Only a sadistic moron would do something like that. Drinking in the yard.... hmm I wish a ghost would get them... And just driving a vehicle over the graves... no. Unless it was a riding mower. No I cannot see that at all.

Date: 4/24/2003 10:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 57404    Arghhh that just makes me angry when I see or hear about people doing that. How aweful that the dead can't even rest in peace.
God Bless

Date: 4/25/2003 12:01:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Penny, I wouldn't even know what to say to the police if I could. I'm sure that the care taker of the cemetary saw the same thing, hopefully they would be able to do something about it. It was just wrong of what they did.
Date: 4/25/2003 12:03:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Smoking Joe..I don't know what moron would think of drinking there or even having sex. I too, hope that maybe a ghost or two will get the person that drove all over the place, putting mud everywhere. How could someone have so much fun pulling cookies in the graveyard?
Date: 4/25/2003 12:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 53052    that's horrid... last year there was some really bad grave tippers they came along and knocked over about 90 headstones(what are all easily 60+ years old some over 100 years old) and old marble isn't easy to patch heck it's darn near impossible.. it took them months to restore it
Date: 4/25/2003 1:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 59418    Wow, well, what comes around goes around...just wait til they are dead n buried :P
Date: 4/25/2003 6:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 48809    As long as there are people in this world, I am afraid we will always have those whose mentality is so low that they want only to destroy whatever they can and never to build anything up. These people are operating on a low level of spirituality and are paving the way towards the very lowest realms when they pass on. They believe that they are "getting away with something"... but I assure they are not !
Date: 4/25/2003 11:14:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    I hope that these people don't get away with it either.
Date: 4/25/2003 11:14:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Midnighty...90??? Wow, that's a lot! So sad
Date: 4/25/2003 11:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 39887    My family are buried in an old historic cemetery and the college students walk thru to get to classes. They have been caught stealing everything from a to z to decorate their dorm rooms. It is sad that the family of these deceased persons are not respected. The caretaker of the cemetery told me that the flags that direct people to the gravesight during the funeral get stolen and sometimes the students will mis-direct the location on purpose. I have a sense of humor and love a good joke but this is ridiculous!
Date: 4/25/2003 1:11:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Busy Bee...When I was in Idaho, years ago, visiting my grandpa's and uncle's grave, I remember seeing a whole bunch of flagss there and some where stolen.
Date: 4/25/2003 1:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 28946    Some of our grave yards have been trashed and many stones vere tossed around and trashed. I was furious when I found my brothers military stone had been chipped. I was so angry I cried. My friends Dad's flowers and ornament were stolen from his grave, not just once either. Like Posey said, sick people are in this world.
Date: 4/25/2003 1:27:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Penny...I'm sorry to hear that happy. *shakes head* Yeah, sick people in this world.
Date: 4/25/2003 2:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 33573    Wow I can't imagine how people could do that! Our cemetaries around where I live aren't like that. We have a really nice big one and we have a smaller one but people don't go and ... I guess you could say "vandalize" ... the cemetaries!
Date: 4/25/2003 2:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53909    Volley...When I went to visit my lil friend's grave, it never had any vandalism there. It was sad to see vandalism there this time
