We sat across the table from each other I, unabashedly bashful and you, a beautiful fool, fooling no one but yourself. Together we sat like that for what seemed an hour when the ambiance of our ambivalence finally asked for the check. At that time I was thinking of what it would take to love you and it would take from you... a few fewer pounds a little more makeup many more breakups and a drink or two (or maybe a few). Not that you aren't attractive just not mutually interactive an unforgiveable sin in this place where the females are so obtuse that it has been aptly dubbed the city of angles. Which one are you? several times you have proved that you are (an) acute hostess but what I admire the most is the fact that you seem so world-weary when you have never left your state of mind.
With the flames of poetry rekindled, I present to you a poem about trying to find the right girl in a crowd of the wrong ones. It's frustrating, but sometimes it is beneficial to go through the motions.
