Date: 4/23/2003 3:27:00 PM From Authorid: 53284 I'm not framiliar with either of your two remaining choices. The thought process that I would go through would involve the following considerations. Which college has the better academic reputation. Which college would be better for my major. Which college would be best suited to my way of life. Which college is offering me the best financial aid. Are their extra cricular activities at one that I am interested in that arn't offered at the other. I know that this is a difficult decision. Read the brochures once again. Maybe you need to go and visit each school for a tour before you make your decision. I had my kids visit several colleges before they made their choices and both are very happy with the choices that they made. |
Date: 4/23/2003 5:28:00 PM From Authorid: 53052 i'm guessing they are community colleges... do they offer the courses you want? do they have a good reputation for turn around? what is the cost of living look like... have you ever thought of school in another country(For example univerity in canada... you get a GREAT deal with the exchange rate with cost of living and schooling costs and often the courses cost less in general you can go to a university for the cost of a community college someplace in the US) |
Date: 4/23/2003 5:44:00 PM From Authorid: 52489 I did two years at Bradford College (Haverhill, MA) but it's closed now; but, I'm familiar with the geography you're talking about. I don't know anything about the colleges, but one thing you should look into are housing costs: are you going to live in a dorm, or off-campus. If the latter, what's the rent like there? Compare the costs at both schools. Also, remember transport. Do those places have a good bus system, if you don't have a car? I didn't consider the transport when I went to Bradford, and spent a lot of time on my bike! --Arion1 |
