Welcome to 'c r i m e - t i m e' all partners-in-crime. Once again, we see the media spotlight switch channels since the war with Iraq has all but subsided. Ghosts that haunted us before the war have resurfaced, some literally, to bring us back to the horrible reality of an epidemic we battle here in our own country- "DOMESTIC VIOLENCE".

Ok, perhaps many of us jumped to conclusions when another Modesto, California bombshell storyline compelled us, featuring the likes of Gary Condit & Chandra Levy. His actions and constant ducking of questions & the glare of television lights, his smurk and natural arrogance- sickened us to the point of where we didn't care of his guilt or innocence- we just hated how he handled the entire matter. Even after his affair with the young intern was exposed- he sat and told Connie Chung repeatedly that basically there was never an affair with anyone, he loved his wife, he made mistakes- but that was the end of the conversation. When Chandra's remains were finally discovered, the heat on Condit finally cooled. After all, he had lost his career,he had probably lost the faith & loyalty of his family & constituents, and lived under an umbrella of suspicion- guilty in the eyes of most. But he may not have been guilty of nothing more than an extra-marital affair, and having a ton of horrible luck. You get all you want from a young, pretty intern- ignore her calls, put your phone number on her pager- then she vanishes, gets murdered, and is recovered in the very park you were to meet and have a talk. Hummmmmmm..............

Then there's the jury who couldn't see past the Heisman Trophy & Hall of Fame talent of O.J Simpson and drew the conclusion that a drug cartel hunted down his ex-wife, slashed her throat from ear to ear, and took Ronald Goldman out as well. Thousands of pieces of evidence pointed to O.J- including his infamous attempt to flee, complete with disguises, a wad of money, and passports. DNA of the two victims, along with O.J's- were at both the murder scene and his home. The Los Angeles Police frame-up theory still stinks to high heaven. Celebrities get away with murder, but Robert Blake will not. He can thank O.J for his chances at an acquital.........................

That's another case that is as obvious as the lips on our faces. A has been hollywood actor, who ironically plays serial killers in most of his movies- parks his sports car down the street from a restaurant- near a dumpster, in a darkened area. After returning to the car when they had completed their dinner, Blake leaves for a few minutes to get the gun he left behind (although no-one remembers seeing him return)- what do you know, his wife is shot dead in the strange parking location he had chosen for the evening. He asked two different associates to kill her, and while she may have tricked him into several situations that were very much unwanted, and while there may have been several other men that she had conned- it was Robert Blake who wanted Bonnie Blakely dead and GONE.....................

Usually when a woman dies a violent death or disappears from the face of the earth and their husband, boyfriend, or whatever begins to act strange- he's a good bet as a suspect. Yes there's a thing called 'RANDOM' violence, but it's rare. When the most important person in a homicide victims life refuses to go around their family or near the murder scene, the place where the victim's body is discovered. They make themselves 'suspect'. When they lawyer up immediately- they make themselves appear guilty. If not of murder, then of something. There's usually a motive or some sinister reasoning behind the murder of a person with no enemies, no logical explanation for that person to be preyed upon and their life cut short. Police normally need not look far...........

With Laci Peterson and her newborn infant: Where do we begin. Okay lets go with Mr.Kennedy defense lawyer, Mickey Sherman's theory. Someone killed Laci and Conner Peterson, dumped their remains in the area where Scott Peterson was known to have liked to fish. Why? To get revenge on Scott? Isn't that extremely out of control? To kill a beautiful, 8-month pregnant woman on Christman Eve- just to make a statement to a fertilizer salesman? Let's be realistic and forget that Mickey Sherman is a defense attorney- did I mention for the likes of Michael Skakel? Laci Peterson & her baby boy were found 80 miles from home, but 2 miles from where Scott Peterson, in his tiny boat, were spotted on Christmas Eve- the day she vanished. A marine biologist seen Mr. Peterson struggle to even get his boat out on the choppy waters of the San Fransisco Bay. Another witness thought-"Who goes fishing on Christmas eve in this kind of chilly weather"? Police also found concrete in the boat of Scott Peterson. Scott had told a couple people he was unhappy about the impending birth of a child. Scott washed his clothes after returning from his so-called fishing trip- the day Laci disappeared, and when police arrived to question him about her whereabouts- the Peterson's home wreaked of "bleach". Shortly after his truck and boat were seized, Scott Peterson traded in Laci's car for a truck. Exactly one month later- a young woman named Amber Frye walked up to a podium and quietly admitted into a circus of microphones that she had been seeing Scott- guess what? He told her he wasn't married. Here he is, a beautiful wife, 8-months pregnant- and he's denying their existence so he can carry on a fling. Then there was his facecious interviews on televison, filled with fake tears, and refusals to answer any questions directly pertaining to the disappearance of the wife he loved "so very much". He loved her so much, that when they found her body washed up on shore, near her infant son- he rounded up $l0,000 cash, his brothers identification, passport identification, then headed for Mexico. The way 'c r i m e - t i m e ' see's it, 3 people vanished and for very different reasons. Laci & her child were lured somewhere, killed, then disposed of near Scotts favorite fishing spot- Scott disappeared to avoid the reprecussions of his actions......

If we all murdered everyone that created obstacles in our lives, anyone who stands in the way of chasing our dreams or being "free as a bird". If we disposed of those who tie us down, who drive us crazy sometimes- it would be an empty planet. Domestic Violence in America isn't a statistic that is slowly declining and fading into a former sub-culture, it's here, and it's growing. Thank goodness that now days, unlike you're a famous, hall-of-fame athlete or a famous movie star- it's real hard to hide the crime of murder and if Scott Peterson did commit these murders, especially against a child on the brink of life- executing the dreams and love of that childs mother- nobody would be more fitting to sit in an electric chair or lay down for a little "lethal-injection". Maybe he owed an old friend a couple hundred dollars and they paid him back by murdering Laci & Conner, then framing Scott, but do we believe that scenario? I vote we wait for the facts and I don't care about the fair-trial issue, he should've faced the pressure- that is if he is innocent of any wrongdoing & he truly loves Laci & his child............
