Casey's Story (part II)......~SpaceCase

When Casey rode off
Into the sunset that day
Her father fell down
On his knees and prayed

'Oh Lord, please watch
My lil' girl
As she waltzes her way
Around the world,

May no harm nor foul
Come her way,
May she find luck
In love and play

May she remember
All of her strengths
When the low moments
Knock her off her feet'

When he was done
He rose up again
Ending the prayer
With an Amen

The he looked up
But she was gone
Past the horizon
And setting sun

He turned slowly round
To his empty shack
He knew she was gone
And not coming back

She looked over
Her shoulder at last
But the light of day
Was falling fast

And all that was
Became dust in the wind
Hoofs kept the beat
As her new song began

Date: 4/23/2003 10:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 28946    Awww Hon, this chapter made me cry because her pa won't see her anymore. Stacie, this one is so much like the songs my momma used to sing to me when I was a little girl. I would beg for these tear jerkers even back then. I think The Casey Saga will be my favorite of all. (tears and all)
