Learning to Ride a Bike.........~SpaceCase

Boy you're gonna take some falls
While learning to ride your bike
A few good bangs and scrapes
War wounds-- wear'em with pride!

If you just give up and quit
You will always have to walk
To the park, to your friends' house
Even around the block

I fell too many times to count
And I didn't have those fancy pads
And I walked ten miles in the snow
No wait, that was my dad!

The point, dear son, that I'm making
Is that your pain will pay off in the end
Because when you can keep on without me
You can ride off with your friends

Date: 4/22/2003 1:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 28946    Sweet memories this poem invoked. I liked the part where you are explaining it all and then get caught up in another generations talk. It was really sweet like you and grandpa was both coaching your boy on bike riding. Very nice.
