So, were any of you USMers robbed? Mugged? Stolen from? I know it isn't such a great thing. The feeling is terrible. Around this same time 2001 I got off the bus from school, no one else was home. I saw the door open and thought, well maybe my grandma was dropped off here. When I got into the house everything was destroyed. After looking around for a minute it occured to me our house had been broken into. Lemme tell you, that was the most scariest thing that ever happened to me. Mostly money was stolen but it was a whooole lot and whoever it was went through everything I had in my room and the same in my parents room. I was afraid to be alone for so long. I had been thinking about that day a while ago and I was just wondering has anyone else had this happen to them? Was it hard to get over?? Did you feel violated too? It would be nice to hear your story! -Crystal-

Date: 4/20/2003 8:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    about five years go....eh maybe four...the dog ALWAYS slept in my room on the bed with me...well one night he wanted out of my room...it was like 3am and I was tired so I just let him out....and I watched him run to the middle of the living room look out towards the front of the house doing a mild little 'I NEED to bark but don't want to get in trouble so I'll just give a few very small woof's'.....I told him to shut up and went back to bed Next morning my dad discovered that the cd player out of my mothers car had been stolen....I felt so bad I didn't pay attention to the dog...then i wanted to pop him one for not really 'warning' us better. LOL

Date: 4/20/2003 8:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 54570    whoa this is creepy I just submitted a joke post about robbing someone. Umm yes I have been robbed on several occasions. Once I just walked up to a fruit stand and bought a melon and a sack of apples and my brand new drill was gone from the floor of my pickup truck. It hadnt even been taken outta the plastic yet. Most of the other times I find my wallet or personals have been rifled through while I am out in a barn working. we have to shower in so all outside clothes jewlery wallets and such are not permitted. Makes it easy for thieves though.
Date: 4/20/2003 8:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 5252    yes, several times, and EVERYTHING was taken. well not everything but very simple things such as food and clothing to very important things such as guns and jewelry were taken, but the sad thing about it, was that we know who did it, and it was a relative.
Date: 4/20/2003 9:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 60162    I have been burgled twice, once was in a hostelle I was in for a while, I lost all of my 30 odd cd's took me years to collect them and my videos too. The second time I lost all my cd's again, money, cigarette lighters, cigarettes, clothing, videos and even some boxer shorts and jewellry. It was horrible knowing someone had been through my things. Theives are the lowest of low, they are complete trash to me. I know how you felt, violated is the word isnt it? The police actually told me that 9 out of 10 burgleries are done by someone you know!!!!!!! Hows that for respect hey?
Date: 4/20/2003 9:35:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 61966    Yep, its really bad Horror Buff. To know that someone has went through everything you have is such a bad feeling. I'm glad someone understands me. The person peed in my parents closet, that was just sick. Thank you all for your replies! -BreathingBody
Date: 4/20/2003 10:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 55536    yes once - I was on a crowded subway trying to hold up a friend of mine who was blind and couldn't reach anything to hold on to. Someone stole my wallet from my purse. Not a lot of money but all my ID and some pictures. And I felt very violated- like here I was helping someone and some jerk took advantage of that

Date: 4/21/2003 6:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 59418    when i lived in oman (i don't know if anyone knows where that is), there was a time when all the houses around my house were getting broken in to. I was on holiday at the time, but we had a friend looking after the house. She was sleeping in the living room with the tv on at about midnight, when she heard something at the window (we had this huge sliding door window), so she went to see what it was, and there were like 3 people standing outside, and one was trying to break the latch with a crowbar. they saw her though and ran away, thank god lol.
Date: 4/21/2003 6:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 53900    Yea it happened to me once when I was a kid and another time when me and my husband first got married.
Date: 4/21/2003 9:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    A few years ago, we were sort of robbed. My hubby is an auto mechanic and many people drop by and they know what we have in our garage. My hubby had left the garage door opened and came into the house. A little while later, my hubby looked out a window and noticed two teens attempting to steal an air compressor and a battery charger. This was in broad daylight! As my hubby ran out the door, he yelled out..Call the police! I looked out and saw two teens trying to get away with the items..They immediately dropped the items and ran in different directions. I jumped into my car and took after one of them and my hubby chased the other on foot. The one I was chasing darted through a yard but not before I recognized him. The one my hubby was chasing entered a house of someone who had not lived there long. I came back and called the police. The police told us that the teen who had moved into that house where the teen had went into is a trouble maker and he does have a police record. It was so very obvious to me that these thieves were not professionals. Really, they attempted to rob us in broad daylight, neither had a mask on, and one of them had been at our house several different times. Of course he was easily identified. The other teen was his cousin.
Date: 4/21/2003 9:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    A few days ago I was listening to the news and this man named '?' Brown had attempted to rob a grocery store in either Maryland or Pa. I didn't catch the state..Anyway, the store owner shot the man in the back and the police arrested the robber. This robber and his father is now sueing the owner because he shot him and shot with an intent to kill. This robber said that even robbers have rights and the owner had violated his rights when he attempted to kill him. What makes this terrible thing so much worse is that the robber has a very good chance of winning the case.
Date: 4/21/2003 9:25:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 61966    Rusure, I have heard things like that too. It's really sad because the guy was defending himself and his store he shouldn't be punished for that. I heard about this one robber who somehow got trapped in the garage while the family was on vacation, he was starving and didn't have anything to eat, after he got out he sued the family! Isn't that some crap, sometimes I think the law is messed up! Thank you and everyone else for your comments!! -BreathingBody
Date: 4/21/2003 12:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 30401    i haven't but my mom did once. She worked at this shoe store in the mall and went through the back with the days deposit in her hands (there was close to 2,000 in there.) And out of nowhere this guy comes up, pushes her, and takes off with the money. luckily these guys that work at foot locker saw it happen and started running after him. But they didn't catch him.
Date: 4/21/2003 2:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i've never had a break in but i've had things stolen from me.. wait.. the car has been broken into something crazy like 4 times!! they cut the roof 3 times and ripped it once.. and in all that all what was stolen was a single speaker!!
