He sat by himself underneath a tree in the park. It was the only tree in sight that produced a head full of bright green leaves. While all the rest were dying and brown like winter's death. But it was summer, and the boy with the blue eyes took out his camera, and scanned the park through it's lenses.
He saw a family playing in the sand, the little girl pushing over her younger brother, as he went crying to his parents. There were movements, but the boy with the blue eyes could not hear any voices. He sat there wishing he belonged to that family.
His head turned to the left, and he saw a couple walking their dog, hand in hand. He noticed the way that they looked at each other, and sat there wishing he belonged there too.
His eyes scanned across the park, noticing a family of six. Mother, Father, three sons, one daughter. The boys were muddy and unclean from such play, while the girl was a sparkling pearl that stood out everywhere she went. He noticed their behavior, and a tear fell from his eyes as he wished that he belonged there as well.
This boy's blue eyes then watched his own hands as he replaced the camera back into the case, no pictures taken. He got up from under his tree, and walked back towards home taking the long way. He would walk into his house, pass by his parents who wouldn't even bother to look up, go to his room, and his blue eyes would cry away the nights in a place where he did not belong.
