I am sorry. That is so sad. It disgusts me that after all that we have been through, people still find it necessary to be prejudice! |

I'm sorry this happened to your son....for searching the car they really need a reason....not just a 'we feel like it'....as for calling back up....honestly don't make a big fuss outta that....alot of cities/states have a rule implamented that if they make a stop after dark they automatically call for back up...*If there isn't two officers in the car that stopped the person*....Personelly? yeah ya'll might be mad about it....but atleast the police officers actually care enough to make sure they aren't drunk.... ask him what year the police officers went on the force (it would have been on their badge.....)If he didn't catch it...how old did they look? If they were younger officers they are ALOT harder than older officers.... |

My son really isnt mad. he just doesnt feel that he should have been treated in such a manner. He tells me that when he told the officer he made a complete stop. The officer told him yes but did did not stop long enough. What does that mean. |

...some cops are just really anal and enjoy harassing people that will allow themselves to undergo this kind of treatment. I got this kind of garbage when I was younger...parked on the side of the street waiting for a relative to get home. A local complains of loud music...they pull up and give me the total workover. As this is happening, the concert by "The Police", about three miles away, goes on in full swing. They heard it and still screwed me over. What irony. The cops got on my case because of "The Police". I got charged with "liquor readily available". That means that I had an unopened case of beer in the trunk. If I was a paint sniffer and had a spray can in the car, would I be charged with "lacquer readily available"? |

It probably isnt anything to do with race but more to do with AGE! My brother has had the same problems ~ he is a 19 year old guy, with a done up car (lowered, dark windows, exhaust, etc) and very loud music. Police target these kind of drivers time after time ~ my brother recently recieved a fine for resting his arm on the trim of his window!! They gave him a fine saying that his arm was hanging out the window which is crap. He is going to appeal it |

your right sun angel it probably has nothing to do with race. I believe its more to do with social status. At least its that way in our small town seeing that the police are employed through the city council and dont have to tell you who makes up that bunch. |

When I was a teenager, we refered to this as a routine hassle. The police would pull you over for the least little reason, sometimes no reason at all, then search your car etc. Sometimes you'd get a ticket sometimes not. One of my dads friends, a motorcycle officer gave me a lecture about getting pulled over. He basically said that I should remain polite and do what I was told as polititley as possible. Eventually the police realise who are the good kids and who are not. When they realize that you are not one of the baddies, then the routine hassles finally will stop. |

...I get this ALL the time...driving a modified car is like waving a red-flag to any Police Officer. Its almost an unfailing certainty you will be pulled over, checked out, breathalyzed, searched, held for a while while they check their Police Records, have you car looked over and questioned about the legality of every little modification (despite having everything fully legally certified), given the 3rd degree and a ton of attitude and then quite often told rather rudely to *urinate* off home before they find something to bust you for. Good to see the Police are harrasing drivers of legally modified cars and not out catching burglars or rapists...well...good for the burglars and rapists anyway. Peace, |
