The Saddam staute in the heart of Baghdad is Down!

Did anyone else watch the news just now. My dad and I just watched our US marines tear down Saddam's statue. We were pretty excited. And,it was so cool what one of our marines did. He put an American flag on Saddam's face. I'm pretty excited. I think the war is almost over. I'll be glad when all our men can come back home. Wooohoooo

The Iraqi's were throwing garbage at Saddam's statue. They were so glad when it was down. They were beating on it and dancing on it. Those people must be happy to be free now.

~GOD BLESS AMERICA~!!!!!

~It looks as if a man is riding the head of the statue and others are pulling him around lol It's pretty funny. We're watching cnn. But,it's on almost every channel.

Date: 4/9/2003 8:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    I was watching it, but it was taking so long to bring it down that I finally sat down at the computer. My five year old was watching and shouted "It's coming down! It's coming down"! So I ran in just as it was hitting the ground. What a great moment. I thought the American flag over the face was pretty funny, but they said their commanders probably told them to take it off. They don't want the troops seen as conquers, but as liberators.

Date: 4/9/2003 8:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 60018    I was watching that! This is interesting to watch lol :P
Date: 4/9/2003 8:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 53284    I had to go to work before I got to see the statue come down. I hope the people of Iraq will have a better life now.
Date: 4/9/2003 8:16:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22406    I agree 100% with Frankenstein!!! We went to war to give them freedom. And,to keep our freedom. I'm glad we went to war. But,I'll be even more glad when all our men can home! God Bless!
Date: 4/9/2003 8:21:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22406    It was an awsome sight
Date: 4/9/2003 8:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 36766    I watched that for over an hour lol...I really liked when the Marine put our flag on Saddams face...did you see the other marine chewing gum and blowing bubbles? I liked that too lol
Date: 4/9/2003 8:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 61928    When I was the evil dictator of Iraq, and the world's most hated terrorist, I had a statue just like Saddam's. It was an awful feeling when they tore it down.
Date: 4/9/2003 8:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 36766    are you serious Slappy? you thought that it was awful when his statue came down?
Date: 4/9/2003 8:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    Can you imagine what the rest of the Dictators in the middle east must be thinking?? They just joked on Foxnews that they're probably going to tell their people that the dancing Iraqis were celebrating Palestinian freedom. I bet Kim Jong of N. Korea isn't sleeping well at night either. I read yesterday China has finally felt pressured into being more firm with North Korea about its nukes. Seems to be all sorts of long term benefits that are going to come from this war. Great quote: "The lessons of Mogadisha are, there are no lessons". We were seen as weak and that is why Bin Ladan thought he could terrorize us and get away with it. I think we have finally laid that misconception to rest. I'm so proud of our troops!
Date: 4/9/2003 9:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    by the way, did anyone see the Iraqis carrying the sign reading "Human shields Go Home"???
Date: 4/9/2003 9:09:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22406    I saw a picture of an Iraqi holding up a sign that said Bye Bye Saddam
Date: 4/9/2003 9:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 28848    yes, I saw this too. Interesting...
Date: 4/9/2003 10:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 36901    I just watched a video clip of that on AOL.
Date: 4/9/2003 10:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 36766    I seen that sign Kelly
Date: 4/9/2003 12:56:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22406    I haven't been able to watch the news for a little while. Has anything new happened lately? Anyone else watching the news?
Date: 4/9/2003 1:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 36967    If you notice something about that when watching it, the marines had a relatively hard time getting the statue down, looks like saddam is fighting his last breath to stand.
Date: 4/9/2003 1:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 49976    It was great I saw that on tv my grandma woke me up and made me come watch lol.

Date: 4/9/2003 7:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 51587    The only reason we teared it down was becuase the Iraqi's wanted us to help them tear it down....so basically the Iraqi's did.....and it was pretty great to watch...expectually w/the head thing..and the big guy in the beginning hitting the base of the statue and the others trying to do what the big man did and wasn't to good. I hope Saddam is dead to save the Iraqi's anymore terror and fear...*hugs*
Date: 4/9/2003 7:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 13283    I saw that ! It was pretty neat . Very few liked Saddam , I am glad the Iraqis are liberated now . Saddam was a mad man . Razzy aka
Date: 4/9/2003 8:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 37073    I am so proud that we did something good. People should be thanking the government for doing something good.
Date: 4/10/2003 2:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 62104    Yeah, made me really proud. To see those people over there feel free for the first time, it was great.
Date: 4/10/2003 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 13729    I'm glad the statue is down.....But dont plan on all of them coming home just yet......The Korean War was more than 50 years ago, and we still need 40,000 troops there to "keep the peace"..........
Date: 4/10/2003 5:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 19613    I guess all that's left is to get rid of all of those weapons of mass destruction they found and...oh wait...
Date: 4/16/2003 8:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 61928    No Baby Cakes, I thought it was awful when mine was torn down.
