Anyone willing to back me up on this? ~JENNALUV~

I was just reading the replies to something I posted a couple of days ago. It was on the war~ are you for, against, or neautral. Basically, I posted this becuase of a school presentation on which I am supposed to get opinions, and was curious about USM's thoughts. I was almost going to stop reading, thought I had read everything interesting, when I came to a comment. It said, "What does God have to do with war? If he did, there would be no war."

As some of you know, even though I am young, I am a very strong christian, and I have beliefs, and I have FAITH. Now, I believe that this person is most likely not a christian~ maybe even an Athiest. But come ON!

God is a gracious, kind, loving, giving, understanding God. But He gives us Trials. He does not need to prevent things (like war) from happening. He gives us a path to follow~ but if we don't follow it, that is OUR CHOICE, and He will not stop us. He WANTS US TO believe in him, but he will not make us to. I don't, and can't, understand why many people don't understand that? They ask, Why does God let so many things happen to us? Well, He DOESN'T WANT THEM TO, but our poor actions lead to many different things. If my brother, who I love dearly, were to die tomorrow, I would cry forever, but I would know that it was GOD'S PLAN, and I have FAITH and TRUST in him!

Date: 4/3/2003 10:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 22651    I have had some hard times, but I always knew it was the choices I was making myself. But he has given me so much to be thankful for....I can place no blame.....

Date: 4/3/2003 10:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 11348    I am very far from a Christian, so I have a different opinion. I don't NOT believe in God and his role in all of this, but I don't believe it either. You ask how we can't understand his role in it and his giving us trials, I ask how can we understand? How can we really know? We have faith... but all faith is is best guess and we will never REALLY know what his role is in war and hardships. I can completely understand your opinion, but I can also see how people would question their faith in times like these. I can see it both ways.
Date: 4/3/2003 11:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 18516    I am what I call a 'confused christian' I don't understand certain things about god or the bible and I have often wondered and asked myself 'why doesn't god step in and do something?' and what I've heard from people is that 'god doesn't interfere in our affairs. ' yet I don't understand miracles..some people say god stepped in and helped them..but then if he does that then why doesn't he step in to help everyone? I'm sure he does..in smaller ways..times when we don't even notice. I just think alot of people are confused about god. But god didn't start this war..MAN did. HATE & EVIL did.
Date: 4/3/2003 11:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 55988    I was just talking about this (God's Plan) with one of my friends today. I feel that we have to experience some things in order to learn and grow. My friend's boyfriend broke up with her today, and i told her that she should be happy for what they had, it happened for a reason and it just means God has something much better waiting for her That is my way of looking at things. ~Alicia
Date: 4/4/2003 4:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 59385    well that supposing argument you just stated has been the excuses used for the god belief. My example is does anyone rememeber how much killing we have had now(david koresh) and in the past(inquistion&crusades.Nothing but death all in the name of this god.If there wa actually all loving blah blah blah god.there is a point where he would actually have to intervene.remember adoplh hitler.oh well
Date: 4/4/2003 4:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 59385    i guess if god cant be blamed for or actions even though we are made in his image he can never be held accoutable so it fits with the religion

Date: 4/4/2003 4:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 59385    our actions and also if we are made in his image it shows how evil he can truley be adoplh hitler
Date: 4/4/2003 6:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 20069    I personally think many wars, maybe this war, but other problems in the war come from posts just like this.
Its people believing so strongly in their way, rejecting others thoughts.
They think THEY'RE right and no one else is.
They're very close minded and thats what causes problems.
I'm in no way trying to call YOU any of these but to me, its on the edge. Sorry if I offended you b ut I personally think thats where most problems come from.

Date: 4/4/2003 11:10:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 48689    That's alright, I understand completely! I respect other people's beliefs, but it makes me sad when someone makes a comment like they did!
