When I was in elementry school, I had some friends tell me a story about thier encounter with a creepy lady that had drowned her daughters in a river near our town and now she would visit the homes of younge girls at night and sing outside their windows at night and change into different colors while doing so. These friend's parent's suppsosidly ran the woman off while they hid in the closet. earlier that day they had been arroached by this lady at church and she had held their hand way too long while she talked to them. This was a pretty scarey story being only 11 at the time, but I wonder if anyone else has heard a similar story.

Date: 4/8/2003 4:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 49952    I find it that I need to clarify this story. La Llorona (pronounced la yo rona) is Spanish for The Weeping Lady. La Llorona is one of the most famous ghosts in North America, most particularly in Mexico and Southwestern U.S. My great-grandfather was walking at 3:30 am for his 30 minutes walk to work on a full moon night when he heard a scream and wailing, but couldn't see where it was from. Sure, he was scared to death, but he kept walking faster. Because of the full moon, he said that he accidentally saw La Llorona's "shadow" on the ground as she hovered above him in the air. He couldn't believe what he saw and I even asked my great grandma (who died in 1994 at the age of 109). She confirmed that it was true and remembered seeing him at the door all paled and passed out. Just inside the front door. Want to know or read more? Check my story by author ID. This is a true story as it was told by my dad and my grandma-they didn't change the story. I'll write more on this when I can.
