Sounds like I need to go see her. I have severe migraines and my doctor hasn't even offered any samples of meds to try for them. I also have trouble sleeping and told her my sleeping pills were not working anymore. It went in one ear and out the other. The one good thing she did was test my thyroid and discovered that it was underactive. Thanks for this post. It reminded me to get started on finding a new doctor. I hope that you get everything fixed up soon, and start feeling better. Take care. |

Trazedone is a very light antidepressent. I take 100 mg at night to help me sleep. I also take 60 mg of Prozac and 4 other antipsychotic medicines including Risperadal and Topomax. Medications really help! Good luck!! :0 |

Thanks guys for all your replies :-) I would try the pills tonight to help me sleep, but I never try new medication unless my husband is home with me. So, maybe I will give it a try tomorrow night. I can pull one more sleepless night I am sure :-) Thanks again! |

I"m glad that you found a doctor that you like. It's always good to find one that cares isn't it? My daughter has a birth defect that makes her thyroid gland not produce the hormones T4 and TSH. If her medication is off even a little it'll cause her to have mood swings. Boy can she be weepy one minute, laughing the next. She's very dramatic anyway but man! when these moods hit her she's nearly inconsolable. I wish you such luck. If you find out anything about your thyroid and have a few questions I might be able to help. Just message me and we'll chat. Good Luck. |

I suffer from Migraines too..I started having them when I was 10 and have had them now for about 9 years..I'm on medication for mine which I take every night..I'm taking Elavil and Nadolol and when I do get a migraine I take a Frova...I've tried Zomig and it did nothing for my headaches. Of course I've been on Imitrex, Zomig, Toradol, Maxalt (oral tablet that melts on your tongue), Maxalt (the regular pill), & Axert. And I was taken off of Calan SR and put on Nadolol. I'm also on birth control for severe cramps and menstral migraines. My doctor was telling me about the patch also..I haven't tried it tho. I'm also taking a low dose of Celexa which is an anti-depressant..I'm taking it because I have no energy and am tired all the time (which is most likely caused by my migraine medications) I'm glad you found a doctor you like..those are hard to find nowadays..lol |
