Six Years, Black Car, Two Drunks, Father Waits
I am ambling today Stopping by the way And noticing the shaded flowers
I am ambling by the road And then I spot a toad He seems very content in dirt
I am meandering on the walk alone Thinking of how I've grown I'm six years old (so old to me) and dressed for Halloween
I am meandering along Doing nothing wrong But a big black car comes around the bend
I am flying through the air Tasting bits of my hair My butterfly costume is all ripped now
The drunks, they left me there to die And me, I only ask the reason why I'm only six, my dad in the house and me waiting for him
I guess he's still waiting for me Me in my butterfly costume full of glee To have some fun on the scary night
The police found me there that night They tried to find them drunks with all their might I would have cried and cried some more if I lived, but no
That scary Halloween No time to even scream I went out like a light in the dead of night
And the drunks they drove on Not even staying to ponder upon What they'd hit, 'cause they were so stoned
I am meandering up above Between a lion and a dove Just waiting for my dad to come
They protect me here
For the one who is not here anymore.. But who filled my life with a light..
