I went to a pro-war rally last night. At the rally they asked for each person who has a child in the military to raise their hand. And then they asked for each person who has a family member (brother, sister, niece, nephew, cousin, etc.) to raise their hand. I thougth it was wonderful to recoginze the family memebers too. There is a great sacrifice on thier part as well. The worries, the tears, heart ache and pain. I think you get the picture....so what I thougth would be a great idea is for everyone who has a child in the military to raise their hand (leave a message on the post). And everyone who has a family member in the military to do the same (regardless of if they are still in US or Iraq, Kuwait, etc.).God bless you all! PS I would like this post to include any country who is involved with Iraqi freedom!

I fear for what my childs eyes may see.
Date: 4/2/2003 5:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 22852    Oh and he is in the Navy, he is a SeaBee and does not stay on a ship, they fly him to where he needs to be.
Date: 4/2/2003 6:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    Stormchaser, that is EXACTLY what I worry about with my husband. I wonder how this will change him and if he will be the same person when he comes home. I can't tell you the stress he was under before he left. he told me Sunday that he'd had young soldiers so scared, family members coming up to him in hysterics...He said the 1st Gulf War he was just a young sgt and didn't have to worry about anyone other than himself and his buddys. This time he has about 25 very young soldiers he is in charge of. The stress of it all I'm afraid is going to take a heavy toll on his health down the road. When he came home after the first war, i was totally amazed at how much that aged him. He is no longer a "spring chicken" so to speak (38), so I can only imagine how much this will age him.
