Talent in the Music Industry

Hello. So Here I am, in 2nd period and I'm thinking about music, which isn't a new thing, but Since I can't have an intelligent conversation about it in this class, I figured I would do it here :) Anyway...I guess the question I'm getting at is "Do you ever think that there will be a band that will change the future of music like Nirvana did?" Even if you don't like the band, you have to admit that they did change the face of the music industry forever, But is their reputation too much to live up to? You can't really top their influence, of course, I don't really believe it is about popularity, but I know that I wouldn't want to be just another band with a record deal, I would want to actually leave my mark, and open up doors for other types of bands that could have gone undiscovered without my presence. Microwave artists like a lot of music out there are in and out almost in the same week, but Nirvana has stayed around even after the Kurt Cobain Tragedy in 1994, and if he were still alive, I'm sure he would still play a key role in the development of the rock scene. I mean, Nirvana wasn't the first band to write their own material or want things done there way, but they were special, because they spoke for a generation. Is there any hope in salvaging talent from the music ind., because it seems that now, managers don't want to take the risk with something fresh. So, do you think that history will repeat itself? Will we have another rock band or musician that will pack as much punch as the late great NIRVANA?
