Schools are for learning..Not for talking on phones...Even if turned off they are easily turned on and misused..Also if a phone is "accidentally" left on and it starts ringing,it can be very distracting... |

lol. i was running late for class last week, bc i went to wal mart with my sister, and i forgot that i had my cell phone in my coat and that it was turned on. Imagine my surprise when the phone started to ring in class. its ok, my prof. was totally cool with it, i just turned it off, i think my red face may have told him the embarrasment was enough for me. |

Hey they require you to leave your phone or pager off during business meetings and even in theatres. They are a annoying when you are trying to learn or enjoy something. My phone is off when I am fishing and the pager is left behind in the truck. Whatever it is can wait! |

I agree with Pyriel. If allowed to have them in school even if they are off, how many students would forget to turn them off and the class would be constantly interrupted by ringing cell phones? |

Well, if you are going to have it off, then what is the point in bringing it in the first place? |

would you take your cellphone and carry it on you while your working??... no probally not unless you do house calls and you need it to reach the office you wouldn't... think of school like a workplace.. it's respectful not to carry it or have it on or play with it during class and anyone who would call you should be respectful enough to NOT CALL DURING CLASS and i think the fine and such is perfectly valid... it's to deture people from leaving them on and causing a desturbance.. |

Well i think you should be allowed them, but if they ring, i think that is a good idea...it teaches you to be responsible..in a way. Cell phones are banned at my school because a couple got nicked... |

We can have them at school, but they have to be turned OFF and left in our lockers. The school does not take responsibility for one being stolen, as it's a choice if you want to bring one or not. Same with discmans. Have to be left IN the lockers and the school is not responsible for replacing them if they get stolen ~Tara~ |

We aren't aloud to have them, But a lot of people do, I know I take my phone, But I never use it during the day, I keep it on silent, and I keep it in my bag, after school as I'm walking home, I take it out and do whatever I durn well please with it.. It doesn't interupt my, or anyone elses learning... |

At our school, cell phones were recently allowed due to all of the school violence that has been happening over the years. They must be turned off during school hours unless of an emergency. I think that that's reasonable, although I think it would be okay to have them on during lunch too.. / ~Alicia |
