Something that bothered me...

I was at my mom's house this weekend and my stepdad showed me this anti-war video on his computer. It had really creepy music and, after quoting Bush a few times, showed these frightening pictures of deformed children from the bombings. The most disturbing ones were the one depicting a girl with a very big stomach and then a very deformed newborn baby crying. They were so depressing and frightening to me that I had to dig up my old Nick Jr. tapes and watch stupid cartoons until I felt better. Pathetic. I really wish that these sort of things didn't happen. And, from the bombings that we've been doing, I guess there's this picture of this girl with her foot pretty much blown off and dangling and then another with a boy with his head halfway blown off. I won't look at these pictures, but just thinking of them gives me the heebie jeebies.

War is such an ugly thing. I wish there were other options.

Date: 3/24/2003 8:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 30401    yes I agree war is gruesome, and it's sad when innocent civilians get harmed. But sometimes if you just sit back and not do anything that could be just as bad. Although I do hope that war is over soon, because it is very depressing!
Date: 3/25/2003 12:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    I know what you mean. I can't even watch the smoke and ashes raising from Bagdad without knowing that there are people there ... real people that I don't think we have the right to kill. The leaders of governments are not the people. Just look around at the hundreds of thousands of protesters that are showing us that everyday. I wish for peace, and another way to get to that goal without blowing anyone up to get there
Date: 3/25/2003 5:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 59418    that sounds horrible! sorry you had to see that!
Date: 3/25/2003 12:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 49172    Me and my boyfriend had a conversation about his a couple of nights ago. We determined that if someone's actions had been different that the war we are going through wouldn't be happening. All war is unreasonable. Sometimes I wish we could sit down and talk this out like human beings.. But I know that will never happen...

Date: 3/25/2003 11:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 39370    Yes, war is awful. Sorry you had to see that
Date: 3/26/2003 12:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 3125    CF..I would refuse to watch something so horrible. I am sure your step father would understand if you told him that you cannot watch something like that. Also, we must keep in mind that a lot of that is nothing more than propaganda ( done for the purpose of causing the US to look like a monster) Saddam himself has tortured and killed more Iraqis than anyone in history. Also, he uses little innocent children as shields. Does it sound as if he really cares what happens to them?
