My Friend's Niece Got Arrested At Age 9

My friend's niece got arrested last Friday for spray painting signs. She is 9 years old. She stole several cans of spray paint from a shed owned by the city she lives in and went around spary painting signs and was caught in action by the police. From what my friend has told me here is waht happened On Friday there was no school and she and her sister were left home because her Mom's boyfriend wanted to be alone with the Mother So Mom told the 12 year old sister to watch her sister. Yeah right the older girl went to her room with her music, phone and books. Meanwhile the sister left the house and stole the paint and started to paint the signs. Despite being caught red handed she tried to blame some neighbor kids when the police tok her home and found her Mom. Now the girl has a juvie court date. Personally I blame the Mom. She should have either gotten someone to stay with her girls taken them along or not gone. The Mom blames the 12 year old but a 12 year old is just a child herself The police already told her the Mom she could be charged with child neglect if DCFS pushed it. In my area the age to be alone and "baby sitting" is 14. Now this young girl will have to face court. In a way maybe it is good she got caught maybe she will learn from this or better still the Mom will learn.
