Eating Holidays
Opening my mouth
Melting on my tongue like so many sparkling tales of laughter
Rivilets of steam curling to meet my nose in aromatic delight
Licking the spoon without permission and scraping the bowl
Orange, spice, and everything nice consumed in no time
Late night movies, the butter sticky on my hands from popcorn
I am flooded with sensations, yummm, how about some gingerbread
Sitting by the oven, my nose pressed against the warm window, waiting
