Does your city have a program like this??? PLEASE READ....THE BABY MOSES PROJECT.......... Raybone

Hey all, I had to go to the doctor's office today to get released back to work after recovering from a broken rib.....

The doctor's office shares the same parking lot as the local hospital. Well, as I was leaving the parking lot, I noticed a sign that I hadn't seen before. It is the size of a billboard, and is located at the entrance to the emergency room.

The sign says, "Babies don't belong in the trash" (in light of so many unwanted babies being put in dumpsters), "they belong HERE!!!" It goes on to say that our city has adopted and sponsors a program called "THE BABY MOSES PROJECT" and that unwanted babies can be dropped off at the hospital with NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

I just thought that was pretty big of them to take these unwanted babies and offer them a life with a family that wants them and loves them.

What do you think?

UPDATE: In case anyone is still reading this, it is a state law in Texas, called "The Baby Moses Law"....

How it changed my life:

Maybe there is hope in this day and age.......

Date: 3/24/2003 5:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 12806    It wouldn't make much sense for someone to steal a baby and drop it off because people usually steal babies for profit...... Thanks for the reply.....
Date: 3/24/2003 5:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 45948    Yes we have that program here, and I think it's a good one. At least it gives those innocent babies a chance. They didn't ask to be brought into the world, the best we can do is make it better for them. Could you imagine how you would feel if you found out later in life that your mother had threw you away in a dumpster? Love,
Date: 3/24/2003 6:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 25756    I've heard of that...it's an awesome idea.
Date: 3/24/2003 6:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 24924    Yes, here in Kansas City, Missouri, babies can be left at the hospitals, and no questions ask; no prosecution of the parent. What is really sad though, is that even with this Moses project, there are still babies dropped off on doorsteps in freezing temps and left in alley's; although the numbers have dropped because of it. I think the best thing is to make sure the word is out there, in schools, hospitals, public buildings, clinics, everywhere, and not just in poor areas either, for teenage pregnancy and abandoned children or abortion crosses ALL economic lines and all areas. Thanks for this reminder post. Perhaps you could explain more thoroughly exactly what this "Moses Project" does entail? Did you make any inquiry by telephone?
Date: 3/24/2003 6:50:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 12806    No, I didn't make any inquiries, I just saw it posted on the billboard there at the entrance to the hospital. It is the first I've heard about it here......
