I completely agree Sis...I cant understand why they have to broadcast so many things...and most of the time just enough details to send someone into a panic...Its horrible. |

I am worrying about the POWS that they keep talking about on the news, and online. I am just worrying about everything really. They tell you just enough to make you get edgy and panicky..I just got a letter from the school district talking about evacuation plans etc..it really had my heart in my throat ,that makes it even more scary. |

If they can't tell us all the details...why say anything? There is no need to send people that have loved ones fighting this war into a panic when they can't give any details. Besides that how many families have learned of details FROM the media instead of from the military? It's sickening...... |

I agree with yall here... they tell us stuff and happenings, but no NAMES, and it is the NAMES that the people NEED to hear IF they are gonna report the gore.. |

My friend is over there right now and I am worried about him like heck. He is in the Taskforce there aviation. I talked to him last, just the day before we went to war. I pray everyday that he will be safe and I pray that nothing will happen to him.I hope he comes back soon. He has his family also that loves him and I am always glued to CNN now and Fox News Channel. |

Justice G.. I am with you on the prayers sweety... I am praying for the safety of everyone, and the WAY things are reported just frustrates me. War is NOT meant to be fought in front of a camera.. |

They do this I think to cause the families pain and uncertainy on the fate of our loved ones. It's a way they have to weaken our moral. I am also behind our troops and pray for their safety. |

Its a fine line..I agree. I mean if they didn't tell american's anything that would be a problem. Its got to be tough to decide what is alright for broadcast and what is not. I agree with you it must be really hard for the loved ones that are over here getting bits and peices...my prayers are with them all. |

True BK.. it is a fine line.. people are just naturally curious.. but to announce horrible things happen and have families just sit hour on hour or day on day wondering is cruel.. in my opinion.. I just think NO war should be fought on Camera |

I hate the news, but then again, I can't make myself stop watching it. I fall asleep to the foxnews channel and when I wake up it is still there. I need to stop watching it, but I'm scared I'll miss something important. |

Oh and I haven't heard from him in Weeks not days. He hasn't phoned since he's been there and the letter I got last week was dated Feb. 22. So what I do get from him is old news. |

I have come to the conclusion that if I don't hear it from President Bush, Collin Powell, General Franks or Donald Rumsfeld then it's not set in stone. |

A very good friend that I have worked with for seven years has a son in country right now. He learned yesterday that one of the helicopter incidents involved members of his son's unit. His son was not on the helicopter that went down. Bobby's biggest fear right now is that he will turn on the television and see his son killed while the entire world is watching. Maybe it is time the news networks began thinking about some of the loved ones at home. |

hey. in the papers yesterday we had a little bit too much of war talk, as on Iraqi tv they are showin pics of dead allied soldiers and we were (unlucky) enough to see these over in britland. this is what i think is too much from the media. |

Yeah they are keeping certain stuff from us..like Yorkshirelass has said..showing pics of dead bodies..personally I'm glad that we're not seeing that..it would just be to much. I've been watching CNN alot lately and one of the POW's (the woman that was captured..who was from texas) her father found out a couple of hours later that she had been captured and he found out by flipping through the tv channels..he hadn't been notified..I just hope this ends soon and that all those troops come home safe. |

ugh, just to add to this post, pics of dead brit soldiers have got over here, which is bad enough but they were released before the families knew. i think that is terrible. |
