I just got back from my senior retreat. Not that many people went from our class. Just 41 out of 750 went. 41 Indiviuals, some who knew each other, and some who didnt. We went to Camp Joy, from Saturday 8:00 to 1:00 Pm Sunday. I Thought we play games, and just hang out, well it was something totally different. We did play games, but teamwork games, and we had large and small group discussions. You really think you know people that u knew for four years, but this weekend changed my life. Are first large group discussion, we talked about leaving are friends and graduating. They played so many sad songs, and everyone broke down crying, Some people I thought I never seen cry. Are smaller group discussions were so sad. I couldn't believe, my close friends, some who lead our class, and the non popluar people coming together and opening up. We ended talking about suicide, and family problems, and how close we really are no matter if were popular or not. I just cant believe these people, who I thought were fearless, strong, leaders, talking about their problems and what their going through. I also met many new people I saw, but too afriad to talk to, it took 6 hours to become friends. In 4 years I never talked to them, but this weekend changed it. I became friends, and I realized, and the other 40 people realized how much we are really close now cuz of this trip. Im now sad, we havent talked sooner, I really love everyone now that went.

This retreat taught me that in highschool and life, get to know everyone. No matter what title being (class president, student council president, popular, nonpopular) we all share the same fears and dreams, and that they may have bigger problems in life that you face. Don't wait for a retreat to talk about your problems. Many people told us stuff for the 1st time they told anyone, if you got a serious problem talk to your parents, minister, friends, or family. Life is short, and just have fun in it.
