I usually get movies from blockbuster for free because my brother works there. Lucky me! I don't like Hollywood Videos though. I turned in a dvd a day early. And they call me 5 days later telling me that I still had the dvd. I forgot to put it back in the case when I turned it in. I asked him, "since it turned it in and the other movies on time, Im I going to get a late fee?" He said "yes..could u bring it back now" I thought when they check movies back in, they're suppose to check them in right away, not 5 days later!! I was so mad. I turned the dvd back and did not pay the fee. I never went back to that place again.  |

ewww yeah no kidding!! the one down the street has a horrible selection... and the new releases are only out for 2 days! usually people can't get it back in ttime, or they don't have enough time for everyone to watch it! it's rediculous! i like Hollywood.. everything there is 5 days! oo yea!  |

My family and I have had more problems with Hollywood Video then anywhere!! They said my mom owed a 15 dollar late charge. Well my mom is very aniel (sp?) so she NEVER has anything out of place of late, So they were turned in on time. well she's like fine whatever I'll just pay it. well next time we went in there they said we owed them again!! My mom was like no way!! I payed that last time!! Since then they keep sending us late notices and the charges keep pileing up,BUT we have gone to the district dude and they said we don't owe anything and we never have. So they gave us back the 15 bucks, but we STILL get letters from them...they drive me nuts!  |

I have had problems with them both. Anal retentive companies! I now rent my movies off of the net. Net flix is great. I never had a problem with them. I stopped using blockbuster and hollywood and a few other places.

i hate the big companys they are really hurting hte little guy with all the corperatness and swamping hte market... my BF is losing his job because of a Rogers video opening up two doors down from his video store he works at what has been in that location for something like 15 years |

Yeah, I hate blockbuster, once i rented this movie and it was like 4 days late and they charged like 30 dollars!!!!! it would have been cheaper to just buy the movie!  |

even though you get the movies longer(i think) i dont think its worth it pay that much. i try to catch what i want on PPV, then for almost the same price i have it always.  |

FireRain, That's happened to me at Hollywood also. They said I had a late fee or whatever and I didn't remember having my movies late. So I did pay for the late fee. The next time I went in to rent movies, they said that I had another late fee. The same ones!!! I told him that I paid for it before. They went ahead and took it off my account. They seem to be real good with late fee things.. Makes me so mad. I never rent there anymore. |

personally i can't stand them but that's all we have near us. They no longer have the guarenteed to be in or it's free so they only carry a few copies of DVD versions. They are overpriced and so are the late fees.  |

I dont like blockbusters either.. I had a late fee on a video I returned 30 minutes early. And they threatened to take me to court because I refused to pay it.. I just use PayPerView now..
I no longer go to the video stores. If I cant find what I want on PayPerView I go to the library and check one out there for free..

There's been a strong rumor going around that Blockbuster censors the movies they rent out. According to the rumor, Blockbuster has its own code of "decency" and they censor what they don't like! They're a big enough chain that they can get away with it! I don't know if that's true--just an urban legend I heard. If you don't like the chain, try Netflix.com! You rent videos or DVDs over the internet, pay a monthly fee, and you can keep them for as long as you want! --Arion1  |

I hate blockbuster also, they are jerks there. They just dont seem to care about the customers not a friendly business at all. I like going to little places, they usually help you out with late fees and all of that. *Cass*  |
