Something similar just recently happened around here too. A 4 yr old boy was beaten to death by his mother and her boyfriend and they still haven't been caught. I just cannot understand how anybody could harm a child like that. Its just sickening. |

Oh my! What is this world coming to? More and more senseless acts against children! It just makes my stomach turn. Like the story of the three young boys found in the basement recently that were supposed to be cared for by their aunt. One was dead and the other two suffered from severe malnutrition. Just awful! ...and the people who can't have children and want them so bad. How can one explain? I know I can't. |

its an absolute disgrace that this sort of thing can go on and on, I dont care what kind of situation is supposed to bring these cruel acts on these poor little darlings, I cant understand how adults can be murdered and the killer can get life sentences but if a child is murdered the same sentences dont seem to apply, and I'd like to know why??? Now this to me just doesn't sound right. That's called abuse in my mind; make them pay the consequences. |

It is so sad that ANY poor, defenseless child has to endure life and death this way. I, too wish I had an answer. I keep looking back and saying, Look at OJ! We all watched as he was found innocent. Where is the justice? Makes me feel like a failure when I can't do anything. Hope, really, really hope, she is in a better place. |

OMG, this horrible! At least she is in a much better place, and at peace like you said. The "parents" may get a slap on the wrist now, but someday they will get what they deserve. |

thanks everyone for your comments!!! our laws have to be changed for sure, to deal with these adult bullies and murderers of children..yes one day they do have to face a much higher power, but in the meantime it still continues, and thats not good enough....hugs to you all Zema xoxo |

Zema you're right this has been going on too long and the laws are doing nothing to make it a better and safe place for children and doing nothing to punish these horrible sick people. |

The girl died??? :-( how sad and sickening is that! Yeah, and most likely they'll just get a jail sentence, but what do we know, you know? (weird idea, but yeah...lol). I think that our punishment system here is too easy; jailers have 3 meals a week, cable in their room, access to phones, etc. and then when they're out, they commit another crime to get back that lifestyle! |

thanks Whatdidisay22 for your comment, yes it is sickening, but these kinds of acts are going unpunished or should I say practically unpunished and its not right....cheers Zema |

Zema, nothing, BUT nothing makes me sicker than child abuse. Just thinking about little ones suffering and being made to suffer is something I cannot understand or ever accept. What a heartbreaking story. I hold my own little babies even closer every time I read a story like this. I always hate hearing about the "boyfriend" stories, I can't help but wonder, where is the rest of the family? Do they just give up? I could never allow this to happen to one of mine, never! My eyes will always be open, and my babies will always be my first priorty. And when I say babies, I mean my grandbabies, but they are my babies, no matter what, and as long as I live, I WILL be watching over them. |

whatdidisay22 this is something we have to keep our eyes and ears open to, like for instance if you know or hear of something happening to children like this all we can do is report it, and if it looks like nothing is being done about it, keep at it like a dog with a bone, the trouble is people think they will leave it in the authorities hands to "fix" but most of the time nothing is done, or when it is, its far too late..and the little ones die...I'm like Shadow Ghost in her comment, I watch mine and other little kids around me like hawks I tell you, if I saw any of my grandkids being treated that way, I'd be right on to my kids about the way their babies are being treated, I'd fix them..right up...take them to court or whatever it takes to help the kids...but then not everyone thinks the way we do..passionately about children being abused grrrrrrrrr, makes me so mad...thanks for your comments...hugs Zema |

Exactly right Zema! My girls know it too! I am very outspoken and up front with them. They respect that. But if one of them ever falls short and allows anything to cause my babies pain, I will know it because, I do make it my business, I always will and I've seen the horrible things done to babies. Too often by boyfriends of younger mothers. Perhaps that sounds harsh, but believe me, it's nothing compared to seeing the damage done afterwards. I've seen some of the abuse that happens to little ones, sometimes by an older sibling. I'll never forget a little four year girl who was baby sat by an older sibling and had her head bashed into the floor so many times she died. The family was disfunctional, parents never at home, they pretty much forced the older (eleven years old) to baby sit while they hung out at bars. |

Also (and I truely hope this isn't deleted, just because it NEEDS to be said) the pain of seeing a little one ripped apart from sexual abuse. I will admit that, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to find a different place to work. But some things, you never forget. You carry it inside, for the rest of your life. |

I agree, but what I meant was that sometimes things don't get accomplished, as you said. Anyways, yeah, I am actively involved in what happens to our future leaders, the children, and if there's anything I can do to protect them, I will. It's just that some people don't have that same vision, and they suffer because of it. :-) |

thanks whatdidisay22 for your replies hun, you certainly have a great vision about the children and yes, they are our future leaders, and yes also, unfortunately not everyone feels the same way...you know, a lot of people dont want to get involved with reporting to the police or welfare departments about suspicions they may have and thats the hard part, I have reported to school authorities of some of the children that I used to tutor with suspicions I have had, and made sure they were acted upon...thats what we have to do....cheers Zema |
