I see the pain in your eyes
I hear the agony in your cries
Just because I am young
Does not mean that I am dumb
I heard the yelling and screaming last night
I saw him hit you, which filled me with fright
I was so scared I couldn't go to bed
I was scared that I would find you dead
Your face and body are now black and blue
I wish there was something I could do
You pretend like nothing ever happened
Like I couldn't hear the yelling and slappin
Everyone wonders why my grades keep falling
I wonder if the Lord hears me calling
Why does life have to be like this
We have no voice when we are kids
Its time to listen to the children today
Its time for us to change our ways
The children are the future, just remember that
We never forget how we were treated like crap
