Life’s timeline
Spent on recreation.
Spent on probability.
Spent on searching.
Life’s timeline,
Keeping warm in the cold
And cold in the warm.
Looking at times
With reflection in mind.
But, the murmur of a
Whimper ensues instead.
Another bottle of
Medication and the
World is fine another hour.

Life’s timeline
Spent on responsibility.
Spent on Pavlovian cultures.
Spent on rituals.
Life’s timeline,
Preparing you for the future,
Preparing you for wealth.
Making the strong fitter,
Fitting to make the strong.
Looking at times
with a future in mind,
And only recollecting
The things that you missed.

Life’s timeline,
Spent on her.
Spent on time.
Spent on trust.
Life’s timeline,
Keeping lovers loving
And loving the lovers.
The mysterious timeline
That has no beginning
Until it has started
And no ending until
After it has ended.
Love’s precious timeline.

Reflecting on the times
That her voice silenced music.
That her scent took over a room.
That her walk stopped the clock.
The muffled talks
On lovers’ walks.
The stifled fear
That the end is near.
You know then, That the timeline has began.


Love’s timeline,
Spent on building a future.
Spent on investments.
Spent on security.
Love’s timeline,
Trying to digest the world
While the world is digesting you.
Trying to keep things together
While they just float along.
Arguing over children’s names,
And bickering over who stole the sheets.
But, you never knew
There was an end to the timeline.

Conceding the arguments,
And letting the lovers live,
And letting life love itself
Are all parts of the reflection
And are essential to vision.
Wishing that the timelines
Are transparent is part of the growth.

Her long winded voice
Is still sharp in the dense air.
Her shampoo scent
Lingers in the shower.
Her soft skin
And brilliant smile
Still silence a heart’s
Argument of being just content.
Maybe that’s just resentment,
But it’s heartfelt,
Nonetheless.

Alas, we wait the breeze
To bring us another
Star-riddled, radiant
Love, as life’s timeline
Seems to dull to be without one.
