Chicago in the 1980's:d

I'm working on a story in which the main character takes his group of friends back to his hometown, Chicago, for a visit. I don't know if Chicago has changed much since about 1983, but it's pretty crucial for my story. Search engines didn't help me out all too much, so maybe if you guys have links or any ideas....

What attractions/landmarks did Chicago have in 1983-84? I really doubt it's any different...

What does Chicago have now?

WildMagic and the characters of FootLoose thank you :oD

Date: 2/7/2003 9:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 38119    Well, I grew up during the 80s in Chicago and I used to go to Licoln Park Zoo(it was and still is free), and North Avenue Beach, which is a section of the lake. One attraction that they didn't have then was Navy Pier. I don't think that the Taste of Chicago was around yet, either.
Date: 2/9/2003 9:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 13729    Wow Chicago has a ton!...We've got the Field museum, The museum of Science and Industry, the Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute, Navy Pier, Grant Park, the not-yet completed Millenium park, not to mention famous architects, landmarked houses, the list goes on and on......
